Adjustments to agenda: None
Approval Minutes: December 6, 2006 minutes were approved with no objections.
Old Business:
Review of Public Outreach Meetings: Ted Curtis said there were several positive comments that came out of the public meetings. He also said there were some concerns about the trails near the Bluffdale area and those were being addressed at neighborhood meetings. Chris Hayday suggested scheduling more public meetings in the future and possibly breaking them up into the six different Wards to let people know what is happening in their neighborhood as it relates to this project. Emails were sent to those attending the public meeting to thank them for attending and providing feedback.
Update on the December 18th Executive Committee Meeting: The meeting was well attended; updates were given on each subcommittee.
RFP Proposal: An RFP was sent out in December to marketing and PR agencies/individuals. Proposals are expected back January 19, 2007. Ted has received several questions from agencies and he has responded to each one. Staff will review each of the proposals received and a committee will interview the top 3 agencies/individuals.
Speakers Bureau: No update
Domain Name Update: Four domain names were purchased for this project: columbiapednet.com, columbiapednet.org, pednetproject.com and pednetproject.org. Since this is a part of the RFP proposal, we will hold on the website process until the marketing process is finalized.
Project Manager’s Report: Ted Curtis talked about the January City Council work session in which The PedNet Project was discussed. Curtis is also looking to hire temporary help to work on various aspect of the project. He is hoping to hire individuals who can start striping some streets Summer 2007. Curtis is also working with MODOT to see if there is an easier method for faster cash flow for this project without the extensive paperwork normally required.
New Business:
Next Full Committee Meeting: It was suggested to have Simon Oswald Architecture and Interiors, Inc. do a presentation at a future Full Committee like they did at the November 2006 subcommittee meeting.
Next Outreach Subcommittee Meeting: Date to be set later based on RFP process.
Speaking Engagements: Ted Curtis recently met with the Cosmo Club and has a speaking engagement coming up with the Rotary Club. Jill is working on a handout for the February Home and Garden Show to show the progress of the project.
Adjourn: 12:50 p.m.
Minutes prepared by Jill Stedem.
