GetAbout Columbia encourages free bike registration

The city of Columbia requires that each bicycle within the city limits be licensed or registered (Ordinance 14-494) so the bike can be traced and returned if lost or stolen. Police officers have also used registration numbers to identify riders and find family members in the event of a medical emergency or crash. There is no charge to register your bike. Bring your bike into one of the eight Columbia fire stations between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily or stop by the GetAbout Columbia office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to register. Click here or call (573) 874-7391 for location information. After filling out a brief form, a registration decal will be attached to your bike and you’ll be ready to roll!
