A movie starring Massachusetts natives Matt Damon and Casey Affleck has been filming in the Greater Boston area for more than a week now. The latest highlight of filming for “The Instigators” was Sunday’s filming of a 25-car chase scene on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, which runs along the Charles River. Sunday’s shooting in Cambridge came a day after footage of a chase along Boston’s Charles River Esplanade was filmed. “Instigators” first began filming on March 22, when Boston’s North End was filled with film crews. The shooting closed Bova’s Bakery, which is normally open 24/7, for nearly a week. There were also more car chases filmed on Storrow Drive in Boston’s Back Bay and went all the way to Malachy’s Saloon in Quincy.” And that’s just that one movie. The ones that are coming up haven’t even started yet,” said Lisa Lobel, co-owner of Boston Casting. Lobel has played many roles in “The Instigators” and many other productions scheduled in New England this summer. One of those productions is for the limited series Netflix’s The Perfect Couple, set to begin filming this week on a private waterfront property in Chatham’s Eastwood Point neighborhood, is based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel set on Nantucket in Massachusetts and will star Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Dakota Fanning and Eve Hewson. “We’ve got it all, right? The beach, the mountains, the city, an interesting backdrop,” Lobel said. “We’ve got a great acting community here with really talented actors. We’ve got a really talented team.” The president and CEO of the Great Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau, Martha Sheridan, said television shows and movies filmed in Massachusetts are good for tax dollars now and good for visitors in the future. “When visitors come to Boston, they like to explore the places they are made these movies and they were too numerous to count,” Sheridan said. “The Instigators” will wrap soon after hiring 200 crew members for locations in the Boston area. “We’ve proven ourselves over and over and over and they just keep coming back,” Lobel said.
