Ajman: The Ajman Tourism Development Department, in collaboration with the Ministry of Community Development and its seniors‘ Happiness Center and Zoya Health & Wellbeing Resort organized “Infinite Talents”, a special workshop dedicated to seniors to help them improve their artistic talents and better connect with the community.
The workshop, which was held at Zoya Health & Wellbeing Resort in Al Zorah, was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Nuaimi, Director General of Ajman Civil Affairs Office, Her Excellency Hessa Tahlak, Assistant Secretary for Social Development at the Ministry of Community Development , His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Alhashmi, Director General of Ajman Tourism Development Department, and Mohammed Obaid Algumlasi, Director of Senior Citizens‘ Happiness Center apart from representatives of other stakeholders.
The workshop was conducted by the three artists Sara Ahcuch and Aliya Attar and Fares Alhamadi with the participation of more than 30 senior citizens who dealt with a number of main topics such as revealing the artistic abilities of senior citizens, supporting the art of painting and providing all the necessary materials for that, developing innovative methods that are useful for the elderly‘ well-being and organizing initiatives and events that guarantee them good income.
This workshop is among the directives of the Ajman Cultural Center, which falls under the Ministry of Tourism Development in Ajman and in collaboration with the Ministry of Community Development, which deals with all matters related to senior citizens, to offer senior citizens an effective plan to integrate and engage with their community by motivating them morally, investing in their skills and ensuring their participation in most civic activities.
About the seminar, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Tourism Development Department, said that serving senior citizens is a national duty and for this every department and authority in Ajman strives to fully support them and develop plans and activities , which allow them to live a fulfilling life, as they consider a symbol of virtue and goodness in our society.
“Senior citizens have a special role to play in our community. Their support and aspiration are the backbone of our country‘with success. To this end, the organization of this seminar and other social events is in accordance with the directives of our wise leadership and its national policy to provide full care to these respected citizens, involve them in many social activities and provide them with all the services they need. .” , Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi added.
For her part, Her Excellency Hessa Tahlak, Assistant Secretary for Social Development at the Ministry of Community Development, said: “Senior citizens are of great importance and priority for the Emirati community, which appreciates the great role they have played in establishing stability, forming unity and ensuring happiness for our families. The vision and guidelines of our wise leadership focus on ensuring a high quality of life for senior citizens by involving them in various social activities and events to achieve the goals of the national policy. His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Alhashmi, Director General of Ajman Tourism Development Department, concluded that “The Infinite Talents Art Workshop resonated well with everyone as it was in line with the directives and vision of our leadership and was primarily aimed at recognizing the role elders play in maintaining the stability, unity and happiness of families and society, in in addition to highlighting their artistic, cultural and creative sense and supporting their standard of living and encouraging them to adopt an active lifestyle within the community according to the national policy defined for senior citizens.
The Ajman Tourism Development Department invests all its efforts to increase the number of events and activities that aim to improve the quality of life of senior citizens and strives to establish more partnerships with relevant authorities to create more wide impact in society.
