BELLWOOD — Bellwood-Antis outscored Somerset 22-9 in the first quarter en route to a 62-31 victory over Somerset on Friday night in girls high school basketball.

Leigha Clapper’s 19 points paced the Lady Blue Devils (1-1), who also got 14 points from Lilly Gerwert and 13 points from Chloe Hammond.

Bellwood hit 10 3-pointers in the game as Somerset fell to 0-4.

Bella Vent’s 17 points topped the Lady Tigers (2-0), while teammate Lauren Stevenson added 10 points.

The Lady Lions (3-1) got nine points from Isabella Hillegass.

MARTINSBURG — Penn Cambria took a 25-12 first-half lead en route to a 49-34 victory over Central.

The Lady Panthers, who improved to 3-1, got a balanced attack with McKenna McCoy scoring 15 points and Addie Hite’s 10 points.

Portage is advancing

NEWVILLE — Portage moved into the championship game of the JT Kuhn Memorial Tournament at Big Spring High School with a 56-32 victory over Biglerville.

Jenna Burkett led the Lady Mustangs with 22 points and Ashlyn Hudak scored 17.

Portage will face host Big Spring in the championship Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.
