BOYNE CITY — Hosting their annual softball Saturday in Boyne City, the Ramblers covered all the bases.
Boyne City won a pair, dropped one and tied on the day, with the wins coming in three and four innings.
The Ramblers met Rudyard and won 22-11 in four innings, fell in a 4-0 game against Ogemaw Heights, tied Cheboygan in a 7-7 game, then topped Rudyard a second time in a 20-0 final.
In the first game against Rudyard, Delaney Vollmer earned the win throwing all four innings.
Savannah Kroondyk went 3 for 4 with four RBIs and a triple, Sadie Kroondyk went 3 for 3 with six RBIs and a double, Karli Hayden doubled in a pair of runs and Katelyn Dittmar went 3 for 4 with three RBIs.
In a tie with Cheboygan in which the Chiefs scored a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning, Addy Cozier threw and gave up three hits and two walks in the opener.
Sophie Franchowiak doubled in two runs, Dittmar went 3 for 3 with three RBI and Hayden went 2 for 2 with an RBI.
The second time against Rudyard, the Ramblers totaled 17 hits in just three innings, scoring 11 runs in the first inning alone.
Morgan Erickson went 3 for 3 with a double, triple and six RBI, Savannah Krundike doubled twice and drove in two runs, Lucy Wee singled, tripled and had two RBI, Miller had a double, single and RBI and Vollmer also doubled and singled.
Dittmar also went 2 for 3 with an RBI as Cozier and Frankowiak drove in three runs.
Vollmer also won two and two thirds by three strokes.
The weekend’s games brought the Ramblers to 4-5-1 overall on the season and they next take on Pickford on Wednesday, April 26.
Charlevoix in Hastings
HASTINGS — The Charlevoix softball team capped the weekend with a win over Hastings in a road game.
The Rayders compiled wins of 20-2 and 12-2, pounding the ball in both games.
Kylie Dorst went 3 for 4 with a double, three RBIs and three runs scored for the Raiders in the opener, Mary Lenz doubled, doubled and knocked in three runs, Avery Kita doubled, tripled and knocked in three, and Macy McKeown doubled in two runs.
Anna Kemp also tripled, Delaney Boehm had three RBIs and Haydin Bissell singled twice and doubled.
Dorst earned the pitching win, striking out four in two innings while Lentz struck out two in an inning of relief.
In game two, Dorst picked up the win again, going five innings with three hits and eight strikeouts.
Dorst and Kemp went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Lentz was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Emma Meadows went 3-for-3, Kita drove in two runs with two hits and Danielle Mason and Aliyah Hogue had RBIs.
The Raiders, now 6-4 overall, will face Ellsworth at home on Tuesday, April 25.
Ellsworth in East Jordan
EAST JORDAN — East Jordan softball picked up its first two wins of the season over the weekend when they hosted Ellsworth and won games 16-10 and 17-7.
“It was great to get back on the field and get some wins,” East Jordan coach Meg Kitson said. “Our pitchers did a great job and our hitters were on fire. The defense was solid and made big plays in key moments.”
In the opener, Alley Whiteford doubled, doubled and tripled and had three RBIs, Lillian Stone singled and doubled and drove in three runs, Caitlin Burks doubled and had two RBIs and Sydney Guerriero singled in one run. Lizzie Popp has also singled twice.
Skylar Barnett earned the win in the hurling, scoring nine.
In the second game, Whiteford went 4 for 4 with three RBIs, finishing his day by reaching base in each at-bat, which included a pair of walks in the opener. Whiteford singled, doubled and tripled in the second game.
Pop singled twice and doubled and drove in three runs, Stone singled, doubled and drove in two, Caitlin Burks singled and doubled and Cadence Kenny singled.
Guerriero earned the pitching win with a pair of strikeouts.
The Red Devils, now 2-6, face Lake City on Monday, then host Petoskey on Wednesday, April 26.
Harbor Light at Boyne Falls
BOYNE FALLS — The Harbor Light Christian softball team split a Northern Lakes doubleheader with Boyne Falls late last week.
The Swordsmen suffered a 5-3 loss and then picked up a 20-8 win over the Loggers.
In the leadoff, Ava Kenwabikise doubled and scored two runs, then Kallun Cope doubled and scored a run.
In game two, Kenwabikise doubled to finish with four runs scored and Caroline Floyd singled and scored a pair.
Harbor Light moved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Northern Lakes.
