Patrick Meehan begins his fifth year as Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications after joining Centenary Athletics on August 5, 2019.

Meehan supports and promotes Centenary’s 21 current men’s and women’s athletic teams and helped launch three new sports in the 2020-2021 academic year: men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s track and field, and cheer and dance competitions. He also helped announce Centenary’s return to the field in November 2021 as football returns to the school in the fall of 2024.

Meehan, a Baton Rouge native who grew up in Shreveport, has worked in or near the athletics industry at several different levels over the past two decades and came to Centenary from his high school alma mater, Loyola College Prep. While at LCP, he worked in alumni relations, development and fundraising in the athletic department from 2016-19.

Meehan began his career in sports information at LSU-Baton Rouge, where he was a student assistant in the LSU Sports Information Department from 2000-04 and had the opportunity to work numerous major sporting events, including five baseball regionals NCAA and three super regionals, the 2002 NCAA Division I Track and Field Outdoor National Championship and two SEC men’s basketball tournaments. He also participated in the 2004 NCAA Women’s Basketball First and Second Rounds and covered the 2004 SEC Men’s Golf Championship in Sea Island, Georgia. During his days as a student assistant at LSU, Meehan served as the primary contact for women’s soccer, men’s golf and men’s and women’s swimming and diving, and was the secondary contact for baseball. After graduating from LSU in August 2004 with a BA in General Science, Meehan spent a year as an Assistant Professor of Media Relations at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

Meehan has a son, Jacob (12), who is already an avid fan of the Ladies and Gentlemen and can be found at a Centenary home sporting event whenever possible.

Preston Ludwick, a former baseball standout for Centenary, was named assistant director of strategic communications on March 1, 2023.

He received his MBA in Business on May 6. Graduated in May 2021 with a BA in Business Administration and a minor in Biology.

Ludwick, a native of Plano, Texas who grew up in Pflugerville, finished his 2022 career as one of the top players in program history in the Division III era (2012-present). He was a two-time all-region selection, a three-time first-team all-conference selection, was named the 2021 SCAC Pitcher of the Year and was a two-time LSWA All-Louisiana selection.

He reached three individual milestones during his senior season – 200 hits, 150 RBI and 150 strikeouts on the mound as he helped lead Centenary to a conference championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Ludwick became just the fourth player in the current DIII era to record 200 or more career hits and also became the 46th SCAC baseball player to reach the milestone. Ludwick ranks in the top 5 all-time in 17 statistical categories — both hitting and pitching — and in the top 10 in two more.

Ludwick assists Meehan with the promotion and support of Centenary’s 21 current men’s and women’s athletic teams.
