High priced NBA DFS Contrarian Choose

It’s always fun to be able to get involved Stephen Curry at a low ownership level, and he’s DraftKings’ best opponent at $9,100. After a big game last night in which he had 31 points and 11 rebounds in New York’s win against the Knicks, the field isn’t particularly interested in bringing him back to DraftKings.

While it could be argued that Curry is a bit pricey for his scoring average, he comes with great upside every time he steps on the court and emerges as the most expendable opposing play on the board.

Curry is only projected to be in 4.5% of DraftKings lineups. With an optimal percentage of 9.6%, it’s clear why Curry looks so good from a leverage perspective. He is undoubtedly an elite tournament player with $9,100.

Mid-priced NBA DFS Contrarian Pick

Ozar Thompson ranks extremely well in Stokastic tools, and he’s DraftKings’ top opposing mid-range player at $5,500. Thompson is becoming somewhat of a regular in this article, and as the field continues to sleep on him, he once again looks like one of the best differentiators at any price on DraftKings.

While Thompson’s rookie campaign has been full of ups and downs, he’s playing good ball right now for a Detroit team that looks a little more competitive than earlier in the season.

With the majority of ownership on this roster going to players from the Memphis-Portland matchup, Thompson fails in a big way on DraftKings.

Thompson is expected to be in just 3.10% of lineups, but has an optimal percentage of 10.1%. While his threshold may be lower than other players in his price range due to his inconsistencies, Thompson has tremendous upside potential at $5,500, and embracing that volatility is key in GPPs.

NBA DFS Low Price Contrarian Choose

Speaking of the Portland-Memphis game, Jake Laravia is one player that doesn’t get a lot of love, and he stands out as DraftKings’ best opposing play at $3,500.

Memphis continues to deal with multiple injuries and things aren’t getting any better for them tonight with Jaren Jackson Jr joining his injured friends on the Grizzlies sideline. While Memphis is undoubtedly a mess right now, LaRavia should see a big boost in minutes with JJJ out.

It also makes sense that the Grizzlies would want to see what they have in LaRavia considering they used first-round draft capital just two years ago. LaRavia was already getting decent rotation minutes and he’s being forgotten as the rest of Memphis continues to rack up tons of ownership on DraftKings.

Stokastic tools currently have LaRavia optimal 7.5% of the time this roster is played on DraftKings. With only 3.2% of lineups slated to include him, LaRavia offers plenty of leverage.
