David’s “TOP 12” Movies of 2022

Greetings from the darkness again. I apologize that my list was completed a little late this year, but at least it’s still January (barely!). Instead of a “Top 10,” this year’s list is a “Top 12,” because that’s just how things worked out. You’ll find my favorite movie of the year, followed by eleven more that were just a step back.

As always, in the Best of the Rest I’ve included a few others (from the 216 movies I watched and reviewed last year) that you might want to try. You just never know when a particular movie will strike a chord, inspire thought, or just provide some much-needed entertainment. Feel free to comment with your 2022 favorites or any thoughts on the list.

My favorite movies of 2022:

THE BANSHES OF INISHERIN
This was without a doubt my favorite film of the year with Martin McDonagh’s great script and his brilliant move to reunite his IN BRUGES co-stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson while also adding Kerry Condon, Barry Keoghan and pet donkey Jenny.
