Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has launched ‘Dubai for a Day’, an innovative medical tourism package targeting international patients.

DHA’s latest health initiative, launched at Arab Health 2023, aims to enable international medical tourists to book procedures and access a wide range of travel services within hours.

Mohammed Al Mheiri, Director of DHA’s Health Tourism Department, said: “We are participating to showcase our latest Dubai in a Day initiative, which promotes preventative health check-ups that can be accessed in one day between two until six o’clock. The demographic of people we are trying to reach is from our neighboring countries between the ages of 25 and 50.”

He explained that the prices were chosen based on other competing destinations. “The idea is to highlight the fact that Dubai has similar services. We also have additional clinics, hospitals that provide one-day services, whether it’s rental services, commodity services, everything that can be done in Dubai in one day. This will strengthen the tourism ecosystem and develop the tourism industry.”

Clarifying the associated costs for medical tourists, Al Mhairi explained: “It is Dh800 for a regular check-up, the executive fee is Dh1,400, for a comprehensive check-up it is Dh4,900 for men and Dh3,300 for women.”

It can be booked on the DHA website, which will refer the patient to the health facility providing the service, in addition to the one-day service. “Whenever we say healthcare providers, the privacy part is extremely important. This is the reason why patients are being redirected to medical facilities”, he added.
