West Virginia dropped its second straight game as the Mountaineers fell 48-24 to Oklahoma State.
We’ll use the ESPN Football Power Index to take a look at the remaining schedule and their predictions for how WVU will fare in those games. WVU is currently ranked No. 51 by the network model, down nine spots from last week.
The Mountaineers are projected to win three of their remaining six games.
Football Power Index (abbreviated FPI) is predictive rating system developed by ESPN which measures the strength of the team and uses it to predict the game and the results of the season American football. Each team’s FPI rating consists of projected offensive, defensive and special teams value as measured by the Expected Added Points (EPA) function. This assessment forms the basis of FPI’s predictions for level of play and season.
