Ring in the New Year at the second annual New Year’s Eve Celebration on Sunday, December 31 at the Helena Civic Center Ballroom.

New Year’s Eve Dance in Townsend
Helena’s Queen City Swing Band will play at the Lodge, 131 Spruce St., Townsend, on New Year’s Eve. The band will play dance music from fox trot to jitterbug to waltzes. The band played classics like “String of Pearls,” “Tuxedo Junction” and “In the Mood,” but also movie theme music and even some salsa and tango music.

The event will begin at 6:30pm with a no-host bar and hors d’oeuvres. Music starts at 7pm

Artists offer ceramics for sale
Forty-six artists will display a vast selection of functional and decorative ceramics.
Prices vary. New stock is added daily. The sale runs through Dec. 23 at the Lundy Center in the former CVS at 526 Euclid Ave. Noon to 6pm Tuesday to Sunday.

Winter Solstice Festival
Wilbur Rehman Quintet teams up with MJ Williams, Cohesion Dance, Magpie Drummers, Janet Tatz and Judy Fjell for a solstice celebration of music and art.
The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, the longest night of the year, at the United Methodist Church of St. Paul, 512 Logan St.
Christmas Eve at the Civic Center
Join us on December 24th for a free Christmas Eve gathering at the Helena Civic Center sponsored by Narrate Church.
The gatherings start at 1.30pm and 3.30pm and will last 75 minutes and will be centered around a team of musicians leading us through Christmas carols. There will be poetry readings throughout and several videos. Complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits are provided.
Doors open 45 minutes before the gatherings start. No tickets required.
New Year’s lunch in the library
Get the New Year’s holidays off to a flying start by celebrating at noon, not midnight, at the Lewis & Clark Library on Sunday, December 31st.
Whether you want to stay up late, aren’t comfortable driving at night, or have kids who go to bed early, the Noon Year’s Eve party is for you.
The event starts at 11 a.m. and is free for all ages. We will have a balloon release at noon along with snacks, crafts, music and entertainment.
New Year at ExplorationWorks
Join us at ExplorationWorks on Sunday, December 31 as we celebrate 2024 around the world.
Every hour we’ll ring in the New Year with a New Year’s ball drop from the ExplorationWorks balcony.
In between the hour-long festivities, there will be hands-on activities and indoor experiments, including a special TinkerLab from 10am. until 4 p.m
Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate will be served. Admission to this event is $9 per person; free for members.
A Christmas Carol is coming to the town centre
Grandstreet Theater presents “A Christmas Carol” at the Helena Civic Center Ballroom, December 19-23.
The production will be by Jeff Downing based on the story by Charles Dickens.
Performances are at 7:30pm Tuesday through Saturday with a Saturday matinee at 2:30pm in the Helena Civic Center Ballroom, 340 Neill Ave.
