Here are Friday’s high school sports scores for the Appleton area

BASEBALL

Mossini 5, Kaukauna 0

KAUKAUNA – Kyle Kress was 3-for-3 and scored a run for the Ghosts in the nonconference loss.

Tyler Jezeski and Bron Schaeffer added hits for Kaukauna.

Wrightstown 4, Brillion 2

WRIGHTSTOWN – The Tigers improved to 5-0 with the win over the Lions.

Wrightstown, which scored one run in the first inning and three in the second, got two hits from Trevor Vande Hey and a double from Trent Vande Hey. Jack Severson drives in a pair of runs.

Joe Shimek, Chase Brown and Landon Mathes each had two hits for Brillion.

Quaid Thompson pitched four shutout innings, allowing three hits while striking out eight to earn the win for Wrightstown.

Jaden Bastian took the loss for Brillion.

Chilton 29, Hilbert 4

HILBERT – The Tigers hit four home runs and scored 23 hits in a five-inning win over the Wolves.

Peyton Jukem had four hits, including a home run and a double, and had eight RBI. Hunter Rolbiecki hit two home runs and drove in six runs on three hits, and Ethan Schneider hit a home run and drove in three runs.

Slaytt Nolan added four hits and two RBI, Ryan Pierquet had four hits and three RBI, and Hudson Ludwig and Mike Vanden Heuvel each had two hits.

Ludwig (2 IP) and Nathan Mueller (3 IP) combined to allow four hits, two earned runs and struck out nine.

Season 16, Yola-Scandinavia 4

IOLA – The Wolves scored 10 runs in the sixth inning to pull away for the Central Wisconsin Conference victory.

Dakota Stroud had a hot bat for Manawa, going 4-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases and two RBI.

Brady Semple, Chase Doberstein and Vincent Timm each had two hits.

Brice Fahser earned the win, going five innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits, striking out two and striking out two.

With the game tied 4-4 after four, Manawa took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth.

SOFTBALL

Menasha 9, Oshkosh North 1

MENASHA – The Bluejays scored in every inning except the second as they recorded a nonconference win.

Carly Helf, Addie Lund, Hannah Neubert and Gabrielle Farr each had two hits for Menasha, while Kelsey Mohr hit a two-run homer in the fifth.

Olivia Borowitz paced the Spartans, going 2-for-3, while Zara Smith added an RBI.

BOYS LACROSSE

Appleton United 18, Oneida Nation 5

APPLETON – Ryder Hill had seven goals, Landon Larson four and Hans Riddlehoover three to lead Appleton to victory.

Hill registered his 100th career goal in the third quarter.

FOOTBALL FOR GIRLS

Xavier 1, Appleton West 0

APPLETON – Kate Janet scored the lone goal of the game to lead the Hawks to a nonconference victory over the Terrors in Xavier.

Neenah Season opener

BOYS

Neenah’s Grant Dean took first in the 100, 200 and 400 meters with times of :10.83, :22.18 and :50.97 respectively. Teammate Wyatt Armock won the 3,200 in 10:24.32 and the 800 in 2:07.54.

Neenah’s Sam Shear swept the weight events, winning the discus with a throw of 131-11 and the shot put with a throw of 46-0.5.

GIRLS

Neenah’s Celia Gentile won the 200 in :26.96 and the 400 in 1:05.34. She also won the long jump with a leap of 18-0.

Neenah’s Rachel Dietrich won the 800 in 2:27.50 and the 1,600 in 5:35.56.

Ashwaubenon’s Thea Kral won the shot put and discus with a mark of 35-7 and discus throw of 130-10.

Team scores were not saved.
