High School Sports Roundup (April 18) – Baltimore Sun

Here’s a recap of the high school action from Tuesday, April 18.

Indian Creek 11, Annapolis Area Christian School 8: Abby Bunker scored five goals and assisted on another to lead the win. Molly Bunker matched her with six points spread between three goals and three assists. Sophie Gomberg recorded a goal and two assists, while Elia Alevin made 16 saves to lead the defense.

North County 20, CMIT 1: Alyssa Yost scored seven goals in the win. Riley Sheets backed her up with three goals, while Maggie Blanford and Natalie Cosentino scored two each. Caitlin Von Berg and Cassidy Cook each dished out two assists.

McDonough 12, Glenelg County School 8: Amanda Lawson and Sophia Trahan each scored four goals to lead the win. Kate Levy and Peyton Magee each added two goals. In goal, Regan O’Donawa made six saves. Blair Byrne led GCS with four goals.

Bel Air 8, North Harford 4: Riley Manzo scored three goals, while Brooke Keesy and Paige Fake each had two goals in the win. Darby Doering also scored. Maddie Hauff had three assists. The Bobcats won 11 of 14 draws, with Fake making a team-best six shutouts. Jody Cadden had three goals for North Harford.

Westminster 12, century 9: Amelia Reed and Paige Moreland each had six points, doing the most damage with assists. Amelia Reed had five assists for a goal, while Moreland dished out four assists and scored twice. Emma Youngling led the Owls with five goals. Lauren Appleby also had two hits. Becca Mullineaux made 12 saves in the loss.

Manchester Valley 21, Francis Scott Key 0: Zoe Cassel made three saves to earn the shutout. Emma Pencek set a season high with eight goals in the game. Haley Bittinger backed her up with six goals. Casey Meredith added three goals. Bittinger and Natalie Burmeister dished out four assists each; Pencek had three.

Wilde Lake 16, Hammond 1: Cassie Montgomery led the Wildecats (3-3) with four goals, including her 100th career goal. Zohra and Zuhal Salehi both recorded hat tricks and Zuhal added an assist. Lauren Sykes also had two goals and an assist.

Centennial 17, Tank 13: The Eagles (3-3) scored a season-high with Abby Kudzillo dominating with seven goals and seven assists. Caitlin McManus also scored six times, while Claire Whipkey had a pair of goals and assists. Jane Boldy also had two goals, while Adria Welsh made six saves for Centennial.

Hebron 14, Catonsville 11: Eli Smith scored five goals to lead the Vikings (4-1) in the win. Olivia Hoover added four goals and Kate Webb had a hat trick and an assist. Caitlin Magdar also had two goals for Mount Hebron, while Solana Wynn had two assists.

Association of Christian Athletes 20, School Tome 6: The Falcons (13-1) had six goals from Emma Carpenter and five from Vicki Meeker. Andy Hull had four goals and a team-best seven assists in the win. FCA led 16-2 at halftime before closing out the win. Landen Cain and Alivia Carrillo had hat tricks in the loss.

South 16, Northeast 3: Jordan Fanzo paced the Bulldogs with five goals. Four players – Charlie Haley, Nathan Hollaus, Alhaji Shaw and James Raymond – added two goals. Xavier Wilson led the defense with six saves. Matthew Hiatzman scored twice and Luke Fox made 14 saves for Northist.

Towson 11, Sparrows Point 9: Trailing 9-4 entering the sixth inning, the Generals erupted for seven runs in the frame to grab the win. Julianna Leatherwood had three hits, with a home run and four RBI. Molly Mohr went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Hannah McElhenney also had three hits and two RBIs. Molly Shelley was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two stolen bases for the Pointers.

Eastern Tech 9, Catonsville 2: Audrey Coker paced the Mavericks (9-1), going 4-for-4 with two RBIs. Sydney Weaver added three hits and two RBI, while Gracie Himmelman and Hayden Gilpatrick also drove in runs. Mallory Gogel threw a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Carver A&T 18, Hereford 1: The Wildcats took control early with a 10-run first inning. Emily Hump went 4-for-4 and drove in seven runs for the win. Mallory Cooper had four hits, including a double and a triple, with three RBI. Tabitha Bourne had two hits and three RBI. L Dennis threw one hit with six strikeouts.

Marriotts Ridge 19, Centennial 2: The Mustangs (6-3) won their fourth straight, exploding for 10 runs in the fourth inning. Jasmine Smith sparked the offense, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Addie Flynn and Saige Spittler each had two RBIs. Jasmin Kirkland also went 3-for-4 for Marriotts Ridge with a solo home run.
