An outpouring of love followed the death of Lance Reddick on Friday.
Celebrities from all over Hollywood — and Reddick’s projects — paid tribute to the late actor following his sudden death at the age of 60.
Zoolander’s Ben Stiller tweeted his love for Reddick following the news of his death. “Lance Reddick was a beautiful and compelling actor,” he wrote. “And a handsome man. He worked with my mother Ann Meara in her play Afterplay, playing Raziel, the waiter who cuts the angel of death. He was exquisite in this and in everything he did. Nothing is lost.”

Wendell Pierce, who starred in The wire with Redick too posted a tribute to his late colleague on Twitter.
“A man of great strength and grace. As talented a musician as he is an actor. The epitome of class,” he wrote. “Sudden, unexpected, acute painful grief for our artistic family. Unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. God, my friend. You left your mark here. RIP’
The wire showrunner David Simon expressed his sadness of Redick’s death in a post on Twitter. “A perfect professional, a dedicated colleague, a wonderful and gentle man, a faithful friend. I could go on, but no, I can’t go on. It’s gut-wrenching. And way, way, way too soon,” he wrote.
HBO too paid tribute to the late actor on social media. “Lance has been part of the HBO family for more than 20 years, starring in several projects, including iconic roles on Oz and The Wire.”
“He is held in the highest regard by all who knew and worked with him and we are proud to be a part of his legacy. He will be greatly missed,” the statement continued.
Filmmaker and director James Gunn called Reddick “an incredibly nice person and an incredibly talented actor.”
“It’s heartbreaking. I love all his family, friends and associates.” he tweeted.
Redick Fringe actor Kirk Acevedo tweeted own tribute, writing: “I just found out that Lance Reddick just passed away. I’ve worked with Lance in OZ and then Fringe. Too many stories and good times with Lance. I will miss you terribly. God, he was taken too soon. take it easy my friend”
Teen Wolf Stephen Ford share a photo of Reddick along with a short note: “we love you Lance Reddick.”
Author Stephen King reacted to the news on Twitter, revealing that he was “halfway through re-watching The Wire” when he learned Reddick had died.
“Lance Reddick died at the terribly unfair age of 60,” he wrote. “Wonderful actor; wonderful man. It’s sad news.”
Other author Michael Connelly added in a tweet: “Thinking of my friend Lance Reddick. More than being a key ingredient in Bosch’s show, he was a wonderful person, friend and collaborator. He took a character who was paper thin in the books and made him Irvin Irving. “

Film producer BJ Colangelo called Reddick “the type of actor who made every single project better just by being there.” Colangelo continued, “This loss is immeasurable. May he rest in peace.”
Reggie Watkins, who appeared on Boschhe said “I never worked directly with Lance Reddick but we were both on Bosch at the same time when I ran into him in a grocery store.”

Chief Andrew Zimmer said Redick is “one of my favorite actors”, calling it “incomparable”.
“May his memory be a blessing to all his friends and family,” Zimmern added in his tweet.
Comedian Adam Conover wrote in a tweet from himself: “There’s nothing more exciting than the moment Lance Reddick appears in a movie, video game, or TV show you’re watching. You just KNOW you’re going to see a fully committed performance that greatly elevates the material. What a waste. RIP.”
On Friday, Reddick’s death was confirmed by his reps in a statement to PEOPLE. The actor was found dead at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles, TMZ first reported.
“Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick passed away suddenly this morning of natural causes. Lance was best known for his roles in The wire, Boschon Netflix Resident Evil and on John Wick films,” the statement said. “He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Reddick, and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick.”
“Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time,” the statement concluded.

In his acting career, Reddick is best known for his role as Charon in John Wick film series. The premiere of the fourth film part is planned for March 24, just a week after Reddick’s death. He also starred in the fifth film in the franchise, a spinoff titled Ballerina.
Reddick also gained fame for his role as Cedric Daniels, who leads the Baltimore Police Department The wire. The actor had appearances in shows including Resident Evil, Bosch, Lostand Oz, and even played a handful of characters at Dick Wolf’s Law and order universe.
