Kareena Kapoor says she’s not a good cook, but husband Saif Ali Khan cooks: ‘He’s really good’

In an interview with Curly Tales, the actor opened up a bit about who decides when certain decisions have to be made about their family’s food and travel plans. When asked if Kareena knows how to cook, the actor said, “I am not a good cook but Saif cooks and he is a very good cook. I can’t decorate things and walk into the kitchen and say “okay chop chop chop”?

However, the actor revealed that Saif trusts her when it comes to feeding their children Jeh and Taimur. “It’s quite clear. He knows I’m right.” Even if we fight, he’ll end up saying “okay, no, you’re right.”

Kareena and Saif welcomed their first child, son Taimur in 2016 and younger son Jeh in 2021. Both children are often seen with their nannies when the family goes out, and Kareena feels it’s important to have help and there is nothing shameful about it.

Talking about the husband’s support for a career-oriented woman, Kareena said, “The whole family and husband should support you and you should be on the same page. You must have good help. Although we rarely talk about it, the fact is that if your parents are older, you don’t have a sister or brother to take care of personally, then you need to have help. You need to seek help and there is nothing wrong with that. I am lucky to have this privilege and I like to use it to my advantage because I am a working mother.”

Kareena recently wrapped up shooting for Hansal Mehta’s film in London and will soon hit the sets for Rhea Kapoor’s The Crew. Saif is also back from shooting a film in Amritsar and the couple is currently enjoying a family holiday in South Africa.

When it comes to holiday planning, Kareena said that she and Saif are always on the same page and he leaves the vacation planning to her.

“Saif’s timings are like… I don’t know!” jokes Kareena, adding, “He leaves the planning to me. He always calls me the best planner. He just leaves everything to me because I think we have similar taste, we always want to go to the same place. He knows that “she will always pick the right spot” and we will always be on the same page. If we are planning a new destination, we always ask ourselves.”
