New OC Chris Klenakis joins KSU from Liberty and has coached both Heisman winner Lamar Jackson and former NFC champion Colin Kaepernick in his career. KSU’s new DC Nathan Burton previously spent time as Georgia Tech’s defensive coordinator and secondary coach for the New Orleans Breakers of the USFL.
  • This weekend, the Kennesaw State running back Michael Benefield is aiming to be the first player in KSU history to rush for 100+ yards in four straight games. He led the rushing attack for the Owls, posting 100-yard games against Tennessee State (101), Lincoln (105) and Sam Houston (108).
  • Last Saturday at Sam Houston, Michael Benefield and Jonathan Murphy each rushed for more than 100 yards. This marks the ninth time in KSU history that a team has had two 100-yard games in the same game and the first time since the 2021 Big South Championship (Xavier Shepherd118) and Cousin Ian114).
  • Kennesaw State’s offense has scored a point in 100 straight games and has reached double figures in 77 of its last 78 contests.
  • In its 100 games as a program, Kennesaw State football has been defeated nine times. Of those nine, KSU has been beaten just three times in 52 contests at Fifth Third Stadium.
  • Against No. 7 Furman on Sept. 16. Jonathan Murphy set KSU individual single-game records for completions (17) and passing yards (308). Murphy became the only quarterback in school history to surpass the 300-yard passing mark in a single game.
