VA Healthcare Palo Alto has a variety of internship and training opportunities at various levels for ambitious new nurses seeking fulfilling careers improving the lives of those who have served our nation.
Student Nurse Technician (SNT)
The student nurse technician (SNT) works and studies under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) while attending nursing school.
The SNT program is an opportunity to practice in a dynamic environment while exploring the VA world. The SNT will gain clinical experience and develop basic nursing skills in a hospital setting. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing direct patient care to veterans and gaining skills such as communication and time management. A flexible schedule ensures you can balance work with school commitments.
To apply for the student nurse program, you will need to submit your resume, application form, and application by email to [email protected] when the application period begins. This is expected to be in early spring 2024. You will also need to confirm your acceptance to nursing school as part of the application process. After interviews, applicants will be required to pass a background check and occupational health screening prior to starting and participate in the Virginia Seasonal Influenza and COVID Vaccination Program.
Eligible candidates
