Decide after dark
Last week was Friday the 13th and next week(ish) is Halloween, so it’s safe to say we’re in the midst of spooky season. There are plenty of great new horror movies to watch – we recommend Absolutely killer (main video) and Talk to me (VOD) — but what if you’re in the mood for something a little more… sultry?
The work week? Above. The lights? Blacked out. The mood? Exactly. You know what that means: it’s time for another round of Decider After Dark.
Before we officially begin, let’s take a look back at some of our favorite Decider After Darks. Earlier this year we looked at the hottest TV shows and movies of 2023 (so far), while in February we explored the most exciting movies for couples to watch on Valentine’s Day (Sleeping with other people Addicted Good luck to you Leo Grande, and more). Tonight’s edition focuses on the sexiest horror movies and TV shows on Netflix, HBO and more.
Which movies are included? Click through our slideshow to discover the hottest horror movies and TV shows streaming.
Jennifer’s body is a certified cult classic. Diablo Cody’s beloved 2009 horror comedy stars Megan Fox as the eponymous Jennifer, a high school cheerleader turned demonic man-eater. We’ve all been there, am I right?
The film is somewhat controversial — it currently has a 46% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes — but Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried’s seductive session joins Wild things, cruel intentionsand Black swan in the pantheon of classic movie lip curls.
Bonus Referral: Atom Egoyan’s 2009 Julianne Moore/Amanda Seyfried erotic thriller Chloe (now streaming on Netflix)
kinds, an absurd sci-fi horror flick from the 90s starring Natasha Henstridge as a sexy alien who tries to eradicate the human race by mating, is not a great movie. But it’s a well-known cult classic. The film earned predictably mediocre reviews, but features a surprisingly solid cast (Michelle Williams, Ben Kingsley, Michael Madson, Alfred Molina, and Forest Whitaker) if you want to check it out on Hulu or Max.
“Friday the 13th” (2009)
Are you ready to have your mind blown? Marcus Nispel since 2009 Friday the 13th the film contains… nudity?! Despite less than favorable reviews (the film currently has a 25% on Rotten Tomatoes), the modern reboot of the classic slasher franchise features all the usual blood, sex, nudity and hockey masks of its predecessors.
All Friday the 13th movies (except Jason) are currently streaming to Max.
Everyone knows about Friday the 13th franchise, but Deon Taylor’s 2020 psychological thriller Fatal is a little more under the radar.
According to Netflix, the film centers on a one-night stand in Las Vegas that turns into a nightmare for a married sports agent (Michael Ealy) when the woman he’s cheating with (Hilary Swank) wreaks havoc on his life.
“Jason Goes to Hell: The Last Friday”
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from decades of horror movies, it’s that Jason Voorhees hates sex. 1993 Jason is going to hell has a rather famous sex scene that takes place in a tent and is preceded by some of the weirdest dialogue in Friday the 13th history: “Think you’re ready for ‘Tony the Amazing Llama’?”
The uncredited version of the scene is…pretty horrifying…as things don’t end well for Tony’s girlfriend the Wonder Llama.
Bonus Referral: Ann Gursault’s acclaimed 1995 erotic thriller The Vampire’s Embrace (pipes)
Michael Mohan’s erotic thriller The Voyeurs was one of the buzziest streaming debuts of 2021. The sizzling Sidney Sweeney/Ben Hardy film oozes sexiness, with Jesse Hassenger calling the film “unashamedly horny” and “a welcome change from the sexlessness of modern millennial movies.”
A dash of Rear window mixed with a generous helping of raw sexiness, you won’t be disappointed if you click play The Voyeurs.
Bonus Referral: An American Werewolf in London (streaming on AMC+)
“Cabin Fever” (2016)
There is no shortage of sexy moments from Fever occurring after long standing indoors franchise, but the photo on the right (and the following quote) is from the 2016 version, which is currently streaming for free on Tubi.
“It’s like being in a plane that you know is going to crash and everyone around you is screaming, ‘We’re going down.’ We’re going down. And all you want to do is just grab the person next to you and screw them to hell because you know you’ll both be dead soon. Does not matter.”
Bonus Referral: John Logan’s 2014 horror drama Penny Dreadful (Showtime, Paramount+ with Showtime)
Real blood is a real favorite of Decider After Dark. From the very first episode, HBO’s cult vampire series pushed the boundaries (and then some) of on-screen sex, featuring threesomes, orgies, fantasy sequences and more. Halloween is the perfect time to indulge in re-watching. Fortunately, all seven seasons are still streaming on Max.
Bonus Referral: Misha Green’s 2020 horror drama Lovecraft Country on Max
