From dramatic dyes to subtle highlights, stars’ hair is constantly in the spotlight.
And when it comes to looking after their hair between transformations, countless celebrities – including Kim Kardashian, Billie Eilish and Drew Barrymore – consider the Olaplex product range a big part of their hair care routine.
Just ask celebrity colorist Tracy Cunningham, who uses the line’s much-talked-about offerings on all of her A-list clients—including Jenny of the Block’s luscious locks.
“I introduced Jennifer Lopez to Olaplex years ago and she immediately loved how soft, shiny and healthy her hair looked after using it,” the hair guru and Olaplex ambassador told Page Six Style.
“Now she uses it all the time…Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Garner and Dakota Johnson also use Olaplex,” she adds. “I support them all!”
As for why the stars are so addicted? With a “constant barrage” of events and roles requiring hair transformations, stars’ locks are often left “dry and damaged,” says Cunningham.
“I think so many celebrities love Olaplex because they see first-hand the immediate results after using the products,” she explains. “Using a bond-building hair care line like Olaplex … is really appealing to celebrities who need products that can repair visible damage and keep their hair healthy.”

Do you keep up with Kim Kardashian’s hair routine? The star name-dropped Olaplex multiple times, saying in a makeup masterclass that No. 3 “really works,” according to The Cut, years before she told Allure that she uses “a lot of Olaplex” when she’s blonde.
Cunningham is on the same page, as she says she uses it every week, putting it in her damp hair “for 10 minutes” while she makes coffee and feeds her cats, then washes it out with shampoo and conditioner.
“If you’ve never used Olaplex before, I recommend you start by using Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector into your routine once a week,” she says of her “favorite” Olaplex offering.
Many stars lather up with Olaplex shampoo—including Jennifer Lopez, who once used it in a behind-the-scenes clip showing her getting ready for a “Dinero” music video.
Cunningham recommends using it for “daily maintenance” along with conditioner No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner ($30).
Wondering what makes Billie Eilish “Happier Than Ever?” It might just be Olaplex. “I’m a big Olaplex freak—I use No. 3 before I shower, their shampoo, conditioner, No. 6, oil, No. 0—lots of Olaplex,” she recently told Harper’s Bazaar about the product line.
Cunningham also called out the Eilish-approved bonding oil, telling us it’s “great to use on hair, especially after using hot tools.” She also recommends Olaplex Bond Intense Moisture Mask ($30) “for all hair types, but especially curly hair because curly hair has more hair bonds.”
You don’t need to be at Cunningham’s salon—or even in the shower—to try Olaplex’s latest offering: dry shampoo.
“It’s perfect for freshening up with clients if I’m on set with them and they don’t have time to do a full wash as it doesn’t leave any white residue or grit on the hair,” says Cunningham. “It’s weightless.”
