LONDON, January 25, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Leading international school organization Nord Anglia Education today released its latest edtech analysis with data from August to December 2022 showing that social impact, health and wellness activities account for more than half of all online course reviews by students.
Global Campus is the North of England’s online learning platform where students can take courses and learn with their peers around the world. The opportunities available to them range from wellness activities to extreme climate challenges organized by WITHand more.
For the five-month period, there were 316,000 study sessions, with students choosing from 218 co-curricular activities. The most popular course topics include the following:
30.92% of the selected students social impact courses dealing with topics such as activism and inequality, among others.
20.25% of students took courses that were health and well-being connected.
20.04% participated in global projects and activities.
19.06% selected students STEM related courses.
9.73% choose courses or other activities related to creativity.
The three most popular courses on the Global Campus were:
MIT Challenge – “Cellfie” Life: Led by Dr. Yamashita, Professor of Biology at WITHstudents explored how bodies start as a single cell with a single set of instructions and end up as trillions of cells, including hundreds of different specialized cell types.
Introduction to World Children’s Day: World Children’s Day is UNICEF’s annual day of action for children. Every year on November 20, the day is celebrated in support of children’s rights and encourages children and young people to raise their voices on issues that concern them.
Writing Contest: Students were asked to write a bilingual short story to help others learn a new language. These stories were then evaluated by Serena Patelauthor of Anisha, The Accidental Detective.
