“I came back from vacation and injected myself with it. I went to lunch with a friend a few days later and she said, “I don’t really eat anything. I’m so sick. I’m on Ozempic,” she recalled on the January 25, 2023, Call Her Daddy podcast.

“I thought, ‘I feel sick too.’ But I had just returned from Spain and was suffering from jet lag. I was there for a month. White privilege.

After Handler told her friend she was “on semaglutide,” her friend confirmed it was the generic version of Ozempic.

The comedian later admitted that he was no longer taking his diabetes medication.

“I’m not into it anymore,” she clarified. “I’m an irresponsible drug user, but I won’t take diabetes medicine. I’ve tried it and I won’t. This is not for me. That’s not right for me.”

“It made me think I haven’t been hungry for so long,” the TikTok star added. “I’ve lost a little weight. I didn’t want to obsess over it long term. I said to myself, “I’m betting on the second me.” [get] away, I’m going [be] I’m starving again.’

“I did and my binge eating got a lot worse. So then I kind of blamed Ozempic.”
