For someone who lusts after a Corvette C5 but is tired of the quad round taillights and stock LS1 engine, then this unfinished build might fit the bill perfectly. The sports car has a damaged powertrain, which allows for an engine swap, especially one that can match Dodge’s exterior components.
Its most notable feature? The rear, which is adorned with Challenger taillights, a Dodge badge and an SRT-branded spoiler. The rest of the bodywork is mostly stock, but with a new set of black 20-inch wheels, the car nods to the SRT Hellcat.

Unfortunately, considerable effort is required upfront, as suggested by the exposed mechanical parts. Although the sale includes a radiator, headlights, alternator, console and automatic transmission, the custom 5.7L V8 with a BTR Stage 4 kit has undergone a bearing rollover. Therefore, the new owner will need to get a new engine to restore the car to working condition.
While Chevy’s own V8 engines would make sense for the Corvette, the Dodge parts on this car effectively require a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 transplant. With the power boost from the Hemi, you’ll burn through a tire in no time. According to the Facebook Marketplace listing, its former owner had plans for the swap, but decided to sell rather than take on the daunting task. That said, this build is a work in progress and will require some serious elbow grease before it’s ready to hit the road.
The damaged Corvette SRT is currently located in Dallas, Texas and was recently sold for $6,000. A new Hemi engine along with some body panels and a lot of work will be needed to complete this unique build. But for its new owner, who was probably looking for something truly one-of-a-kind, the Dodge Corvette SRT could be the perfect challenge.
