2025 October Many reports said that US President Donald Trump was wrong to say he “talked to the President of Puerto Rico,” criticizing Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny, who would lead 2026. Super Bowl Show.
One record seemed to laughed at the short supposed gaffe, saying, “Bro, that’s you! You are the president of Puerto Rico.”
Snopes readers sent us an image that allegedly shows the Fox News Chyron with the text: “I asked the President of Puerto Rico to find out if we can deport the bad bunny there after Super Bowl.

Readers were also looking for evidence of our website that Trump had a supposed statement, as well as information about whether he allegedly invited the president of Puerto Rico to “accuse” the obvious president of Puerto Rico.
The rumors were fictional. Trump never said he had talked to the President of Puerto Rico, nor did he disagree with such impeachment. So we appreciated this statement incorrectly assigned.
We were looking for a listening quote option on Google and we found no reliable news reports about it. If Trump had actually said he was talking to the Puerto Rico President, journalists would have reported Gaffe.
We also searched for the alleged evidence of Fox News Chyron.
It wasn’t sure. In the screenshot above, the font is incompatible with Fox News standard style.
The image came from the satirical Facebook account created by James Schlarmann, who has a story about what he thinks is the funny meema with Fox News Chyrons.
As the first reported facts to check lead stories, Trump actually misrepresented the “President of the Virgin Islands” in 2017. According to transcripts of the White House archived, officials corrected Trump’s notes to the state that he was referring to the governor (emphasized, ours):
We also stand with millions of people suffering from huge fires, which are currently raging in California, and catastrophic hurricanes along the Gulf coast, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands. I will tell you, I left Texas, I left Florida, and I left Louisian and and I went to Puerto Rico and met the president [governor] Virgin Islands.
Rumors of a short allegedly say he “talked to the President of Puerto Rico” appeared after the NFL announced a bad bunny like 2026. Super Bowl for half a year. We used to look at Corey Lewandowski, Advisor to Trump, said ICE officers would be involved in Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show.
