One Corpus Christi elementary school was ranked as the third best elementary school in Texas by US News & World Report.
Windsor Park Elementary School outperformed schools in many of Texas’ largest cities, including Houston and Dallas.
But Windsor Park Elementary is not your typical elementary school. The campus hosts the Corpus Christi School District’s Gifted and Talented Independent School Program. Before being accepted to Windsor Park, Corpus Christi ISD kindergartners at each elementary school are screened for gifted and talented. The school also accepts applications from students from other school districts.
US News & World Report October 28 published in 2026 primary and secondary school rankings, which evaluated 127,538 schools. Rankings are based on students’ math and reading skills on state assessments, taking into account socioeconomic demographics.

The next Corpus Christi school on the elementary list, Kolda Elementary School, ranks 326th.
In the high school rankings, no Corpus Christi high school was ranked at the top. However, London High School in the London Independent School District was ranked 95th.

What you need to know about school accountability
The Texas Education Agency also rates public and charter schools through the School Accountability System, assigning each campus and school district an AF rating.
Based on the 2024-2025 school year, several schools in the Corpus Christi area received A grades, including Windsor Park Elementary School, Creekside Elementary School, Webb Elementary School, Baker Middle School, Barnes Elementary School, Flour Bluff Middle School, London Middle School, Calallen West Middle School and Wood River Elementary School.
