Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America is a brand new EV of $ 7.6 billion.
HMGMA, near Savanna, opened the door in March this year in Georgia.
The factory will be able to build 500,000 EVs and Hyundai, Kia and Genesis.
Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America or Hmgma is one of the latest and most advanced car factories in the world.
The factory near Savannah, Georgia, opened the door in March and will be the main Hyundai EV and PHEV manufacturing company, as well as those belonging to its Genesis luxury brand and Kia sisters.
In a recent interview, Tedros Mengiste, CEO of Genesis North America, said an investment as an example of the Hyundai example “visionaries and strategic and long -term thinking.”
I recently organized a new Hyundai tour of the behind -the -scenes tour of autonomous robots and state -of -the -art technologies.
The Hyundai Metaplant has a 3,000 -acre town in South Georgia Ellabell.

Located just 20 miles from the Savannah Harbor, one of the busiest US, the plant not only gives Hyundai a much needed production capacity in the US to avoid import tariffs, but also gives the company flexibility to export vehicles abroad.
It also provides a trace of Hyundai to compete with competitors such as Tesla, GM and Rivian, which also develops a new factory in Georgia.
When driving to the factory, it is easy to impress the emanating complex.

This is the second Hyundai Group car factory in the state. The company also owns $ 3.2 billion, 2200 acres, West Point, Georgia, which is building Kia EV and Ice SUVs.
I went to the factory in the new 2026. Hyundai Ioniq 9 EV SUV, one of the vehicles collected by metaplant.

My tour began in the modern plant’s main lobby.

2022 In the autumn, Hyundai entered the object and took just two years to complete the main production buildings.
The Metaplant site consists of 11 buildings, a total of 7.5 million square feet.

Metaplant is a miracle of vertical integration that aims to have so many basic components, starting from battery packaging to seats made in place.

The production process begins at a stamping store, where sheet metal is cut and stamped into parts that will make the car frame.

The sheet metal is supplied by the Hyundai steel device on the spot.
The stamped parts are transported by automatic vehicles or AGV.

The factory employs nearly 300 AG to carry everything – from spare parts to partially assembled cars.
The metal panels are then stored on these huge shelves.

Initially, the Metaplant is expected to produce up to 300,000 electrified vehicles a year. However, Hyundai announced in March during the big opening of the factory that its capacity would be expanded to $ 500,000 as a new $ 21 billion investment in US production in the coming years.
Here are the parts of the Ioniq 9, the new Hyundai sample three -line EV SUV.

The factory is expected to start producing its first Kia model next year.
The other part of the tour is the welding store.

Here, the robot weld the stamped metal pieces to form a vehicle housing.
The work done by the welding robots is then checked by the workers of the plant, known as professionals.

The MoSplant employees have more than 1,300 meta benefits, of which nearly 90% were hired on the spot.
There are staff meetings and breaks areas along the inspection and assembly sites.

In addition to human eyes, vehicles are also checked by a couple of Boston dynamics robotic dogs called Spot.

Another stop, paint store.
Unfortunately, my journey could not enter the paint store due to concern that external visitors could impair the quality of the paint program.

Hyundai Mobis produces a skateboard chassis near the building next to the General Assembly. The Metaplant battery factory, operating in a joint venture with LG, is expected to appear online next year. Currently, the factory has its batteries in the cold from other Hyundai devices, including one of the northern Georgia, is a joint company with a SK.
The interiors of the vehicles are then hand assembled.

These AGVs drive by vehicles to perform various factory quality control tests.
At the end of the assembly line, EV is placed at their pace instead of the test track, before sending to the vehicle preparation center, or VPC to prepare for transportation.
