Update (8:18 p.m.): News 5 learned that a two -year -old shot is a boy and his brother could have been scheduled for Wednesday morning shooting to Whistler.
“They are simply without intestinal punk, which shot in the place of residence in the bedroom window,” said Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch. “So, you know, there was no forced entrance or attempt to get into an apartment.”
Burch believes the incident was a gang -related shooting.
“We believe they are all teenagers and, you know, honestly, the goal was her teenage son, who is engaged in gang activity,” said Burch.
“And he, you know, I am sure that the target of the shooting,” Burch continued.
There was no arrest yet and the 2-year condition is unknown.
Burch said the boy underwent surgery and was treated at the US Injuries Center.
He said the Sheriff’s service would continue to prefer gang activity.
“This will be the priority of our Special Operations Division. The message to the gang members is: ‘I dare to pull out a weapon on one of my guys,” said Burch.
“It may be the last thing you do,” he continued.
Update (3 pm): Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch held a press conference on Wednesday about an event that remained a 2 -year -old child in a hospital with a gunshot wound to the face.
According to the sheriff Burch, two shootings took place on a “stone throw” from each other on Wednesday morning.
“We do not know whether it is related or not. But, you know, I do not believe in coincidences. So we believe that this shooting was related to gangs and was revenge for shooting on Vestavija Street on June 1 with some gang members and there were some forward and backward,” the sheriff said. “After shooting at 1 hour this morning on Vestavia Street was shooting about 4 hours.”
The shooting at 1 o’clock in the morning took place in St. In Stephens Woods’s apartment, where a 2-year-old child was shot.
Sheriff Burch said investigators gathered evidence of both shootings on Wednesday morning.
He also expressed anger about the violence that took place in the county.
“It’s teenagers, it’s gangs. And, to be honest, I would like to put them all in the arena and let them kill hell from each other because it would solve the problem,” Burch said. “So, but there are always innocent people who shoot.” One thing that is a problem and we worked a little, we will be more aggressive. ‘
Burch also made claims against the Prichard Police Department, claiming that they were collapsing to their citizens.

Update (10:10 p.m.): Prichard Mayor Jimmie Gardner issued a statement on Wednesday morning shooting that injured 2 years.
Mayor Gardner began his statement by repeating what had happened and recognizing the difficult family times.
“The child was rushed to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. Our thoughts and sincere prayers are with the child and the family during this unimaginably difficult time,” the statement states.
He continued to say that there was a “alarming pattern of violence” in the city.
He said this model is too often influenced by our communities. The investigation is actively continued, and we cooperate with law enforcement to determine the persons responsible, ”said Mayor Gardner.
“Let me clearly say: when the culprit is found, they must be attractive to full law.”
He ended his statement by saying he was angry and that these crimes have to stop.
“We have to get together as a community to demand a better and tireless work to make our home and streets safer for every child and every family. It has to stop,” he said.
