The son of a US soldier born in the army base in Germany is deported to Jamaica

(KTLA)-a man born to an active member of the US military to the army base in Germany in 1986, and before coming to the states when the child was deported to Jamaic-Chal, where he was never, the Austin’s Chronicle said.

Jermaine Thomas, whose Jamaican-born dad became a US citizen in his 18-year military career, spent most of his early life from base to base with his father and mother, and the latter-Kenyan citizen at birth.

At the age of 11, after his parents’ divorce and his second mother’s marriage to another soldier, he went to live with his father, who had left, since then, in Florida. Unfortunately, his father in 2010 Died of renal failure shortly after Tom arrived.

Most of his life afterwards, the Chronicle said, was missed in Texas, homeless and out of prison.

It is unclear when exactly Tom was told to leave the country, but in 2015 The court’s records show a case that took place until the Supreme Court, in which the US Department of Justice said he was not a citizen simply because he was born in the US Army base in Germany.

The Supreme Court ruled on DOJ in support of the US Court of Appeal and denied Thomas’ petition for review of a deportation order, partly saying that “his father did not meet the physical existence of the statute in force at birth.”

The court also noted the previous criminal sentences of Tom, one for domestic violence and two “crimes related to moral discomfort.”

He told the chronicles that deportation to Jamaica began with eviction of his apartment.

After issuing his belongings from the apartment, the local police arrested him in suspicion of crime – misconduct in Texas.

A lawyer appointed by a court said he would probably remain in prison for a greater part of the year, waiting for the trial, Tom, who lost his job when he was blocking, signed a start -up agreement with certain conditions, but instead of released from Bell County prison, he was moved to half months.

He now told the chronicle that he lives in a hotel in Kingston, even though he is not sure who is paying for it, the US or Jamaican government and does not know how long he will be able to stay there.

Not sure how to get a job, whether he is allowed, Tom added that he is not sure if he is even legal for him to be in the country at all.

“If you are in the US Army and the army is deploying you somewhere, and you have to have your child there and your child is mistaken when you pass and you give your life in this country, will you be fine with them just by throwing your child out of the country?” Tom said in a phone call with The Outlet journalist.

Neither the ICE nor the Homeland Security Department responded to the Chronicle’s request to comment.
