In the footage of mobile phones, another officer standing in front of an officer who struck a teenager on the ground is visible by releasing his metal bar because it seems that the filming person is trying to see the girl better while she is on the ground.

As for the 17-year-old, she says the violence traumatized her.

“From that day on, I was very painful and I’m afraid to sleep,” she explained. “If I go outside, even after removing the trash, I’m afraid because I don’t know what will happen to me.”

In a statement by the officers of the San Bernardin Police Department, the officer was able to handcuff only one of Erin’s hands, when she reportedly began to retreat and walk, and then the officer used the Takedown maneuver.

Erin’s family believes that the whole situation was inappropriate, and they call for the State Prosecutor General Rob Bont to conduct a thorough investigation of the incident.

“It’s not right,” said Erin’s grandfather Michael Phillips. “I don’t blame all the police. I just want someone who felt forced to sink into my granddaughter.”

The family lawyer said the KTLA was going to bring a lawsuit against the Police Department.
