Other astronauts, directed to the moon, are preparing for all unforeseen situations as their mission approaches, and they have recently completed a rehearsal of night launch procedures.
NASA’s “Artemis 2” mission-first of all-time Orion Capsules and Space Launch System (SLS) Mission-Anti-21 February to April
The quartet will fly Orion on the journey around the moon, originating around the natural satellite and screaming back to the Earth in the “free return” trajectory. The Artemis 2 crew practiced night start -up protocols during the recent dress rehearsal in NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida, which donated their space suits to review the emergency exit procedures on the launch tower.

From August 12th. Artemis 2 astronauts spent about two nights, going to their space suits set in KSC Neil Armstrong Operations and Cashier Building (O & C), Different Launcher Scenarios around Launcher-39B (LC-39b) and nearby vehicle assembly building (VAB) The existing vehicle assembly building (VAB), where Artemis 2 SLS rock start is mobile.
The crew of one exercise was carried out during the start-up scrubbing sequence, 9 miles (14.5 km) from O & C to LC-39B, and then back to O & C to evaluate routes, communications and time.

The Artemis 2 crew also practiced emergency exit procedures at High Bay 3, at the SLS.
If the Artemis 2 crew is already an Orion or near the top of the launch tower with a rapid exit, which provides as much distance between rocket and astronauts as possible, is necessary to ensure their safety. In such cases, Crews board cable carts, attached to the top of the mobile launch platform (MLP), which carry them to the LC-39B “Plant Terms” for the area, according to the NASA blog post.

Those bags are currently on the vab floor, where there are currently MLP and SLS-MAUM 3 miles (5 km) from the LC-39B. Astronauts traveled between both places to complete the emergency exit modeling.
After moving from O & C to the VAB full suit clothing, the Artemis 2 astronauts rose to the MLP tower into a white room, the connection area at the MLP crew’s access hand, which opens to the Orion hatch. Returning to the beetle floor, the crew was exercising while driving and leaving the emergency exit baskets.

From there, the crew was transported to the LC-39B perimeter, where the bags would carry them in a real launch day accident. After the Artemis 2 crew was taken to the pre -established safe zones around the KSC, before the test ended the test was cut into predefined safe zones.

The rehearsal of last week’s dresses accurately reflects the time of the day, which the crew completed in 2023. Since then, their mission has been postponed several times, and the goal post has been kicked since 2024. Until the existing 2026 February The network (not before) the date (although the crew says April is more likely).
NASA has released the most important modeling events of the last launch day by following the crew from the costume, transport, uplift and landing tower to the cable baskets and to the launch tray. That whole video can be found below:
