Garching, Germany. The volatility of the battery electric vehicle market, which has renewed interest in long-distance plug-in hybrids and advanced EVS, provides additional lift to Deepdrive-Electric motor startup, which supports BMW and Volkswagen Group.
“We have many activities about Hybrid, especially Range Exher,” Feliks Pörnbacher, the General Director of Deepdrive, said at the Automotive News Europe new supplier’s headquarters here north of Munich. “If you build a hybrid, you don’t have room for large electric engines. So you need very compact lightweight engines where our technology is.”
Deepdrive, which patented the double roto electric motor and also works on wheel engines, will make a new product line for September. At the Munich IAA exhibition at the Munich IAA Exhibition, Pörnbacher said. He refused to provide more information.

He said the interest in Deepdrive’s electronic fee is high because independent tests have shown that it is more efficient, economical, more sustainable and has higher performance than competitors’ topology.
The supplier continues the production of large -scale electric motor up to 2028-29 and small -scale production next year.
When asked how much new engineering needs to be done to make the Deepdrive current electric motor or wheel engine in the range, Pörnbacher said 20-30 percent.
“This is the same basic knowledge,” he said.
He added that the debate on the use of Deepdrive products in cars with alternative power plants is not a signal that customers go from the BeV.
“There was no one OEM who just wants to talk to us about hybrid programs. They all still want to talk about battery electric vehicles.
Over the past year, Deepdrive has developed about 60 central discs. Several prototypes were purchased by car manufacturers.
“We are at the point where many large car manufacturers have been carrying out our central discs on the test benches for several months and they tell us,” This technology works, “said Pörnbacher. “It is extremely valuable to us because it is not just our inner confirmation.”
Eight out of 10 largest car manufacturers in the world are working with Deepdrive according to customized series applications. Most of the work is around the company’s electric motor, which Investor BMW Group has begun to try several last summer.
