DNA of Beethoven’s hair reveals a surprise almost 200 years

1827 March On Monday, German composer Ludwig Van Beethoven died after a protracted disease.

After the previous Christmas, the failure was devastated by jaundice, swollen limb and abdomen, and every breath fight.

When his associates sorted through personal belongings, they unveiled the document he had written a quarter of a century earlier – the will begged his brothers to report his condition to the public.

Today, it is no secret that one of the biggest musicians ever known by the world was its mid-40s functionally deaf.

It was a tragic irony that Beethoven wanted the world to understand not only personal but also medical.

The composer will miss his doctor for nearly two decades, but for almost two centuries after the death of Beethoven, the team of researchers has decided to execute his will in the way he has never dreamed, genetically analyzing DNA authenticated hair samples.

“Our main goal was to explain Beethoven’s health problems, which loudly include progressive hearing loss, starting from the mid-1980s to the end and finally encouraging it to functionally deaf in 1818,” the biochemist Johannes in Kruss from the Max Planck Institute to describe.

The main reason for this hearing loss was never known, not even his personal physician dr. Johann Adam Schmidt.

Johann Adam Schmidt Cameo

What began as tinnitus over 20, gradually gave up the place to reduce sound noise tolerance, and eventually losing hearing in higher places, actually ending his career as a performer artist.

No one can be more ironic for a musician. In a letter addressed to his brothers, Beethoven confessed that he was “hopelessly suffered” that he was considering suicide.

It was not just a hearing loss that the composer had to deal with in his adult life. At least 22 years old, he said he suffered from severe abdominal pain and chronic diarrhea.

Six years before his death, the first signs of liver disease were the disease, which is believed to have been responsible for his death at least in part by relatively young 56 years of age.

2007 A forensic study of what was believed to have been Bethoven’s hair, leading lead to his death if it was not finally responsible for the symptoms that meant his life.

Given that it was taken from lead vessels and at the time of the use of lead, it is hardly surprising.

This latest study published in 2023. Debacle the theory in March, but revealed that the hair had never come from Beethoven, but rather an unknown woman.

More importantly, a few locks, confirmed, were more likely to be the composer’s head, showed that his death was probably the result of hepatitis B infection, which was exacerbated by his drink and many liver disease risk factors.

When it comes to other conditions?

“We couldn’t find the final causes of Beethoven’s deafness or gastrointestinal problems,” Krauss said.

In a sense, we have more questions about the life and death of a famous classic composer.

Where did he get infected with hepatitis? How did a woman’s hair lock passed for centuries like Beethoven? And what was behind his bowel pain and hearing loss?

Given that the team is inspired by the desire of Beethoven to make the world understand its hearing loss, this is a miserable result. Although another surprise was buried among his genes.

Further study comparing the Y chromosome in hair samples with the points of modern relatives descending from Bethoven’s father’s line to discrepancy.

This indicates the unmarried sexual activity in the generations that were born to the composer.

“This conclusion shows an ExtraPair parenting event in its homeland line between Hendrik Van Beethoven’s concept in Kampenhout, Belgium, 1572, and Ludwig van Beethoven seven times later after 1770. In Bonia, Germany, ”said Tristan, the University of the Biological Anthroper, in Kamerbridge in Ukzdh.

All of this can be a little more than the younger Beethoven, which negotiates, taking into account the fateful request he made to the paper.

He would never have dreamed of the secrets that were preserved as his friends, and his fellows cut their hair out of his body after the 1827s. Monday evening was a gloomy stormy.
