About Burkholderia Cepacia
Based on disease control and prevention centers (CDC), Burkholderia Cepcia is commonly found in soil and water and is prone to infection in a health care facility. Symptoms of infection vary from any symptoms to serious respiratory infections, which causes a special risk to immune -suppressed people, especially those with cystic fibrosis or other chronic lung disease under CDC. Other symptoms include fever and fatigue.
Remembrance noted that the consumption of contaminated product in healthy individuals with minor skin lesions could cause local infection. However, the aforementioned vulnerable populations can develop infection that is more likely to spread to the blood and cause sepsis, which is a life -threatening medical situation.
