Fire destroys the Las Vegas shopping complex, damaged by 8 businesses including mail

Las Vegas (Class) – Clark County Fire Figure crews on Friday morning fought against a big fire in the morning business complex across the street from UNLV town in Maryland Park, near Tropicana Avenue.

The fire was reported shortly after 8 p.m. 4632 S. Maryland Parkway. Plaza is known as university gardens and has several businesses, including a post office, which, according to firefighters, has been destroyed.

“We came to find two-story Strip Mall main center center with high fire and smoke showing from the roof,” said Thomas Touchstone, Deputy Chief of County Firefighters. “We have reports that started at the back.”

The black smoke from the fire could be seen through the Las Vegas Valley. Touchstone said passers -by called the flame. Many business companies in the complex have not yet been opened that day.

Currently, Touchstone has reported injuries. “At the moment we do not know if there are any victims because we could not look for main employment and it will take us a few hours.”

After a heavy flame building, the center collapsed and created a dangerous firefighter situation.

TouchStone said crews went into defensive regime to prevent the flames from destroying the two -storey complex north and southern ends. As a result, those parts of the building had minimal damage.

It responded from 100 to 125 firefighters, and hence between 40 and 50 Las Vegas’ metropolitan police officers.

Metro police said traffic was closed in both directions Maryland Parkway between Harmon Avenue and University Road.

The fire is reportedly 90 percent at 9:30 am and does not endanger other structures of the district, fire officials said.
