The iOS 26 is here, and with it, Apple’s “Liquid Glass” design updates. Yesterday, I looked at how to quickly cancel most of the harshest changes related to liquid glass, but today the complaints from consumers require a completely separate correction. Fortunately, there is an opportunity to help you, though not everyone.
Dark Mode icons now look a bit tilted
When users are announcing Reddit, it turns out that Dark Mode programs icons do not play very well with the new iOS 26 liquid glass aesthetics. As far as it will be frightened, every person will be different, but essentially some people on the Internet (and Lifehacker team) now complain that their Dark Mode icons seem tilted as if they are not completely dead center.
Personally, it is difficult for me to see it when I look at my entire main screen, but after my colleague sent me a more enlarged shot, I see how it will interfere with it. This is an optical illusion because the position of the icon is the same, but it is.
The problem seems to be new accents added to certain, but not all program icons, using Dark Mode. Uneven lighting creates an effect that, according to Lifehacker’s sister, Site Mashable, some users complain of dizziness. Worse, how bright accents depend on your background – I see them easier to see through the dark parts of my background, but they tend to bleed into lighter parts.
Technically, these accents are also available when used programs with lighter backgrounds are used, but they are less noticeable because they are not so contrary to them.
Again, you can’t be sensitive to the effect. If I do not concentrate on it, I tend to forget about it. But if it bother you, what can you do?
Reduction of transparency does nothing
Unfortunately, the One-Toggle correction, which eliminates most “Liquid Glass” problems, “reduce transparency”, seems to do nothing for your application icons. It is a pity because to reduce transparency easy to implement: you just turn it on Settings> Accessibility> Screen and Text SizeAnd it will get rid of most translucent elements of liquid glass for you. But since the icons are still sturdy, they won’t do anything here. Instead, you will need creatively.
Try to tone your program icons
At the moment, I, unfortunately, have no corrections to Apple Dark Mode for apps icons. Even the optional icons using Apple’s dark mode background color will still have new important things. But I have one tip that will make you close to the same experience.
It turns out that the program icons to Dark Mode are not the only way to force them to use milder colors. If you seem ugly at the Dark Mode at this time, you can try toning your app icons instead.
This gives your program icons a monochrome look with white or gray text, and while this, unfortunately, means losing app icons with more than two colors, it also means you can move on to the other dark color background that may look a little less tilted to you. The vulnerable accents will still be, but with the right tinted background, you may be able to make them less noticeable.
To try this, go to your main screen, then press for a long time until your application starts to vibrate. Click Edit Then in the upper left corner To apply; Select the menu that appears at the bottom of the screen Tinted;
You will get two color selection bands as well as the option to select Easy or Dark icons (that is, separate from the general light and dark mode programs icons that are not monochrome). Think of the top color of the collection as a overall color of the program and the bottom as a way to get to that color area more specific. Meanwhile Easy Will make the program text and graphic elements white while Dark will use a grayer tone.

Neither of them is exactly the same as just using Dark Mode icons, but if you are like me, it can be close enough.

If your app icons tinting do not work for you, do not wear it. Apple is likely to see these complaints and adjust the liquid glass accordingly. He has twice softened the iOS 26 beta version, so perhaps the real solution here is time.
