Sky-Gazers can look at the lunar full moon this week.
August Moon, also known as Sturgeon’s Moon, will be visible from Friday evening to early Saturday hours. According to Earthsky, it will be the most detailed about 3:55 p.m. Et on Saturday.
“A good thing in the” full moon “thing is that even if you are in a big city with many lights in the city, you can definitely appreciate the lunar full moon,” said Kelsey Young, NASA’s Artemis II mission lunar science goals. But with the most impressive view, she advises that the moon is observed from the city’s shine.
Although the moon will be in the middle of the night, it seems to be full of days, Young said. “Even at a much smarter night, you can look outside and see the full moon of the moon, especially if you are away from the ambient light,” she added.
Historically, the moon of August is called Sturgeon’s Moon, as it is a significant time of year when sturgeon fish is the easiest to catch, according to the old farmer’s almanac.
Other August lunar monikers from local tribes show the end of summer. Cree, mainly in Canada, knows how to fly the moon, indicating the time of year when young birds are learning to fly, and asyniboine people who come from the northern great plains call the black cherry moon, which they note when the cherries become ripe.
Observe planets and meteorus
The full moon will be accompanied by three meteor showers: southern delta aquariums, alpha whims and Perseidas.
Aquariid and Capricornid showers reached the tops last week, and the Persel shower is expected to reach the largest next week. It is unlikely that the showers will be visible under the moon full.
However, you may be able to look at Venus and Jupiter, which can be seen in the early hours of August morning. On Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, the planets will appear close to the sky – a bright meeting of heaven.
In the second half of the month, at the beginning of the morning, Mercury will be visible from 20 to 30 degrees below Venus on the horizon, Young said. You can also see Mars “If you look to the West immediately after sunset,” she said.
Upcoming full moon
This year, pay attention to four full moons with supermen full of moons that appear until the moon is closest to the Earth – October, November and December.
According to the Farmers’ Almanac, a list of full moons, remaining in 2025:
Moon and Sun Eclipses 2025
As summer approaches, two Eclipse events will take place.
Based on Time and Data, Time and Data on September 7 and 8. The total lunar eclipse will be visible in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, Eastern South America, Alaska and Antarctica.
The lunar eclipse occurs when the moon falls directly into the shadow of the Earth as the sun, the earth and the moon. This makes the moon look darker or dim.
When the moon sits in the darkest part of the Earth, the sun’s rays look from the Earth and light fractures, giving the moon a pink tint, the London Museum of Natural History reports. Some people call the results “blood moon”.
Two weeks after the entire lunar eclipse, the partial eclipse of the sun will be visible at the locations of Australia, Atlantic, Pacific and Antarctica, September 21.
Solar eclipses occur when the moon moves between the sun and the earth. In the case of a partial solar eclipse, the moon will not block the sun at all, according to NASA. It creates a crescent – as if the moon is out of the sun.
