Karen’s reading lawyer Alan Jackson blasts a special prosecutor in a new statement
Karen Read’s lawyer, Alan Jackson, announced a long statement on Tuesday, blowing up a special prosecutor Hank Brennan for his “gross violation of the prosecutor’s ethics” after the acquittal was read in 2022. The death of John O’keefe.
Jackson’s critical comments came after Brennan said on Monday that Read’s “intimidation and abuse campaign” led to the jurors of her second trial to prevent her second -degree murder and murder. She was convicted of drunk driving.
Jackson also fired a shot at Michael Morrissey, a “thoughtful” lawyer for Norfolk County, for “having no interest” in search of justice in O’Keefe.
Last Wednesday, the jurors announced their verdict, considering within four days.
Jackson first shared a statement with the Boston 25 Tedu Daniel.
The full statement of Jackson is as follows:
“The jurors spoke, but the special prosecutor Hank Brennan, who is extremely violating the prosecutor’s ethics, tried to publicly shame and discredit the same jury. To try to resolve his personal jurisdiction over the desperate attempt to save his face after the unanimous prosecutor’s office rejection.
The rules of professional behavior are clear: the prosecutor should support the legality of the justice system and promote public confidence in its activities. Openly attacking the jurors’ verdict because he disagrees with this harm the order of centuries ago.
Mr Brennan says his investigation was “meticulous”. If that were true, the Commonwealth would have revealed what we, defense, unveiled: hidden economic evidence; The lies and lies of the Commonwealth witnesses themselves; Cops covering other cops; biased and corrupt conductor with personal relationships with witnesses; The behavior and suspicious behavior of many witnesses.
The only work of the ethical prosecutor is to seek the truth correctly and honestly. The Commonwealth did not comply with this responsibility. They were not efforts to find justice for John O’Keefe. Rather, it was a personal Vendetta against Karen, read by Da Michael Morrissey and his hands-selected prosecutors-and that cost the people of Norfolk County millions
The fact is that Karen Read is actually innocent, and this case first and foremost has never had to go to court. This case is a pronounced reminder that it was completely divided into what should be our justice system. Those who control are more interested in protecting than the citizens they are sworn to protect.
Commonwealth slanderous public comments call the hollow voters themselves to serve. It is now clear that the ashamed Da Michael Morrissey is not interested in the actual search for justice for John O’Keefe, determining and prosecuted by real killer or killers. The Commonwealth would rather condemn the jury and her honest and lawful verdict.
We are grateful for the commitment to the Truth and that they have found the way to the correct verdict. But don’t be mistaken – if Da Michael Morrissey had his own way, the truth would never have appeared. It would have been lost somewhere in private and deleted conversations that would never have seen daylight. Such corruption does not occur separately. How many innocent people have been planned due to the failures of our judicial system? We, as citizens, have to demand more of our institutions. ”
Assistant District Prosecutor Adam Lally led the prosecution’s efforts during the first Read trial, which ended in a suspended commission. Brennan, who changed him to the case, said on Monday he was “disappointed” in the verdict and that he could not achieve justice in O’keef and his family.
Brennan said the evidence in the murder case led to “only one person”.
“After self -reviewing and thorough review of all the evidence, I concluded that evidence encouraged one person and only one person. Neither a closed federal study nor my independent review encouraged me to identify any other possible suspect or person responsible for John O’keefe’s death,” Brennan added.
See – Jackson, Brennan makes the final arguments:
Brennan continued: “We cannot dive into the abuse of witnesses, so the participants are worried about the safety of their own or their families. I hope that witnesses and their families will be left alone.
Last week, Norfolko County lawyer Michael Morrissey issued a four -word statement in response to the Read’s sentence: “The jurors spoke.”
Prosecutors said the O’Keefe was read with their SUV, leaving him to die in a storm outside the home of Boston Officer Brian Alberto, located in the Fairview Road 34 Fairview Road, in the canton, after a night after a drinking night. Her lawyers successfully defended her by painting a threatening picture of the police’s misconduct and theoretality that O’keefe actually killed her colleagues and followed by secrecy.
Boston 25 News contacted Brennan and Morrissey to comment on Jackson’s statement.
