It seems that every couple of days a commercial flight announces news about what made a mistake, and that’s before you pay for all small, private airplane accidents. In one of the latest examples, CNN reports that the American Airlines’ flight from Denver International was evacuated before the upswing after the “possible landing tools incident”. The good news is that everyone got out of the plane with only one reported trauma. The bad news is that the video on evacuation showed that many passengers ignored the crew members’ instructions and grabbed their bags before leaving the plane.
It’s my friends, what we call a “bad idea”, and that’s not just because you should execute all the crew orders. You should leave your bags on the plane during emergency evacuation as it slows down and in turn prolongs how long it takes to get everyone else out of the plane. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, commercial aircraft must be completely evacuated in 90 or less, but according to, according to CNNIt took 10 to 15 minutes to evacuate this American Airlines flight. Yikes.
Fortunately, the brake fire, derived from landing tools, was not large enough to pick up the entire plane, but it is not something you will find out when the crew places an order to evacuate the plane. And when they say leave all the portable items, they are serious. Get up, get off the plane and worry about your designer suitcases, laptop and charger cables later. Not only do you make you selfish. This is a danger to everyone else on the plane.

Leave everything behind your back
Good news is, as you can see in the video above, not all on board have ignored crew instructions. Some people did what they were told and left their bags on board, but you can also see that this was not too much of them. And even if you are more concerned with your bags than other people, you get off the plane safely, you also need to learn the lesson here. It is impossible to guarantee that the emergency slides and gracefully landed on the bottom of the feet, but it seems that passengers carrying their bags had much harder to do so than everyone else.
So, even in a situation where passengers, which take at least 10 minutes to prevent evacular airplane, do not appear deadly, you will significantly increase your ability to injure on the asphalt when you lose balance. You also risk your suitcase to pierce slide when leaving, can injure other passengers and the crew is much harder to control the evacuation.

So, even if the entire plane burned and took your suitcase, you will still have the right to compensate for what you lost. It is also only things, and things can be replaced. If the crew reports emergency evacuation, just leave your bags. It will be fine, and no bag is worth the risk of someone’s life. If this is not a good reason for you, at least leave your bags to avoid calling your bad behavior online. Really, you don’t want it, right?
