Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) completely lost it Tuesday night after the Senators. Tim Scott (R-SC) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) both threw her under the bus over the recent incident at Charleston International Airport that is hurting her gubernatorial campaign.

Last Thursday, Mace reportedly lashed out at airport police, calling them “damn incompetent” who, according to one officer, would have been “addressed” if she was “any other person at the airport acting and speaking the way she did”. Mace also stated that security would “never treat Tim Scott like that” during the confrontation.

Mace confirmed the incident took place but defended her handling of it, insisting she would not tolerate “mediocrity when it comes to airport security”.

On Tuesday, her main opponent, South Carolina’s attorney general Alan Wilson (R), slammed Mace, supplying airport police and TSA agents with food from Waffle House and Chick-fil-A, and stuntman Mace didn’t take kindly to it.

But things escalated when Scott and Graham got involved.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Scott wrote:

For reasons unknown, Representative Nancy Mace called my name during and after her situation at Charleston International Airport. So let me make a few things clear. I’ve used that airport long before I was in Congress, and every interaction I’ve had, without exception, has been positive. The airport police women and men are professional, courteous and go above and beyond the call of duty. Since I’ve lived with death threats for longer than I can remember, the airport police are taking extra security measures, which I’m grateful for. I follow their lead, do what they ask, and respect the many responsibilities these officers have to balance. I have met many of them personally and I try not to miss an opportunity to express my gratitude.

Those who know me know that I do not use profanity, either in public or in private. It is never acceptable to berate police officers, airport workers, and TSA agents who are simply doing their jobs, nor is it acceptable for a member of Congress to use such vulgar language when communicating with constituents. These officers are not only sworn to protect us, but we also swear to represent them. We work for them, not the other way around.

For those who wish to invoke my name, please kindly note my actions and the way I treat police officers, TSA agents and fellow passengers the way they deserve.

Graham then made his statement:

I agree with @SenatorTimScott when it comes to the men and women who provide security at Charleston International Airport. I have had a similar personal experience and have had nothing but positive, respectful interactions with the police officers and TSA agents who provide security at Charleston Airport.

Charleston International Airport is a world-class visitor gateway and vital to the Lowcountry economy. And it’s worth investing in. Evidence of that commitment is that over the past four years, I’ve directed nearly $40 million. It was a good investment for the Lowcountry in particular and South Carolina as a whole.

The men and women I have encountered, from security to airport management, are professional and diligent in their duties, and I am honored to represent them in the United States Senate.

The storm that followed was epic.

“The establishment is in PANIC MODE. They are doing everything they can, including falsifying police incident reports, to STOP US. And it won’t work. If they don’t find it, they’ll just get on with it. They’ll do everything they can to destroy us,” Mace wrote in his first post addressing the rebuke. “They come after me because I will always stand up and fight for you. You know what I say to all of this? GOOD LUCK AND BEST CONSERVATIVES WIN!”

In a video accompanying the post, she added:

If you haven’t figured it out yet, they’re coming after me because I’m sticking up and fighting for you. I will be an anti-corruption, pro-law and order governor. I will also be the governor of airport security. Never forget that they come after me because I stand for you.

And the tweets, one of which was meant to imply that Graham was gay, kept pouring in:

The congresswoman remained silent on the lawsuits until Wednesday morning.

“DEFAMATION ACTION! I have appointed an attorney to take swift and strong legal action against American Airlines and the Charleston Airport following allegations that they falsified incident report(s) in order to defame me. Thank you for your attention to this matter! wrote Mace in a post that included a lengthy press release that read:

CHARLESTON, SC (November 5, 2025) – US Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) is taking legal action against American Airlines and Charleston International Airport (CHS) following allegations that several airport and airline employees coordinated and colluded to create false and misleading reports about the 2025 flight.
