The black moon is taking place this weekend. That’s why you won’t see that

The moon goes to many names. August saw the entire moon of the sturgeon, and in March Sky-Gazers could have witnessed a blood moon that occurs when the satellite looks red through the lunar eclipse. You may have also heard of the blue moon, the second full moon of the moon took place within a month.

And then this weekend the Black Moon, which is rare and invisible, is happening.

This phenomenon will take place on Friday night to early Saturday. According to Earthsky, the moon will be closest to the sun at 2:06 p.m. Et et on Saturday.

What is the Black Moon?

Like the Blue Moon, the Black Moon is not an official term, but it means the second youth a month. This happens once every 29 months.

The young moon occurs as soon as its far side illuminates the sun, making it invisible from the Earth. It marks the beginning of the lunar cycle.

“The Black Moon (or the Young Moon) is when the Moon is essentially between Earth and Sun, not eclipse, but where we do not see the moon,” said noah Peter, NASA, NASA, geology, geophysics and geochemistry laboratory, Goddardo Space Flight, Maryland Goddard’s Space Centers.

What is different from the solar eclipse is the layout of the moon. In the solar eclipse, the moon passes in front of the sun, blocking some or all sunlight and throwing a shadow on Earth. But the young moon (and the black moon) passes near the sun.

The term Black Moon can also mean a month within which there are no new moons. This usually happens in February, as Peter’s data are followed by a 29.5 -day model. February is usually 28 days, except for the jump year when it has 29 days.

Stargazers can have quite a lot of image

As the Black Moon will be invisible, the lunar observers will not have much to see.

But Stargazers will have a lot.

“The new moon or the black moon is perfect for astronomers when it is clear,” said Peter, “because you can go outside and basically have no light contamination from the moon.”

This is the best time of the year to see the planets, according to Earthsky, so after sunset or just before sunrise, you may be able to notice some of the celestial bodies like Venus, Mars and Saturn.

If you have binoculars or a telescope, you can also watch a dumbbell nebulae, colorful, glowing old stars in 1,200 light -year -olds from the Earth’s Vulpel. Nebula appears in the first half of the night.

Upcoming full moon

This year, pay attention to four full moons with supermen full of moons that appear until the moon is closest to the Earth – October, November and December.

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, a list of full moons, remaining in 2025:

Moon and Sun Eclipses 2025

As summer approaches, two Eclipse events will take place.

Based on Time and Data, Time and Data on September 7 and 8. The total lunar eclipse will be visible in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, Eastern South America, Alaska and Antarctica.

The lunar eclipse occurs when the moon falls directly into the shadow of the Earth as the sun, the earth and the moon. This makes the moon look darker or dim.

When the moon sits in the darkest part of the Earth, the sun’s rays look from the Earth and light fractures, giving the moon a pink tint, the London Museum of Natural History reports. Some people call the results of blood moon.

Two weeks after the entire lunar eclipse, the partial eclipse of the sun will be visible at the locations of Australia, Atlantic, Pacific and Antarctica, September 21.

Solar eclipses occur when the moon moves between the sun and the earth. In the case of a partial solar eclipse, the moon will not block the sun at all, according to NASA. It creates a crescent – as if the moon is out of the sun.
