Earlier on Wednesday, Fox4 talked to three selected Missouri -led leaders about the upcoming special session that Missouri Lawmakers will have. One of the main priorities for a special session will be the Package of the Republican Governor Mike Kehoe Stadium, which is trying to keep both teams in the SHOW-ME state.
On Wednesday, Frank White, executive director of Democratic Jackson County, said his goal is still on the royal and leaders in his county. However, he supported “April voting” Sales tax elections side of both teams.
White said he could not speak for the state when it comes to something like a special session.
“For the county, you know what we have done for teams all these years,” he said. “Our plan is still an agreement that makes sense for Jackson County and both teams, and we look forward to keeping both teams in Jackson’s County.”

One person who did not support the stadium package during the last week of the legislative session was the Senator of the Republican State Joe Nicola of the Grain Valley. Nicola said FOX4, he thinks teams are important to the county.
“But more importantly, these are our property taxes, and that’s what I’m fighting,” Nicola said on Wednesday. “We must have a certain property tax relief.”
Nicola says he wants such relief until he supports the draft law. The property tax relief was not a part of Kehoe Tuesday morning press conference when it comes to what will be discussed during the special session.
“But he and I were discussing,” Nicola told about his conversations with Governor Kehoe. “I discussed this with the leadership with the chairman of the palace, and my property tax expense should be part of the special session, so that’s what I fight, and I think we have a consensus to keep someone.”
The Nicola bill would grant up to 50% of the total tax to the State Tax Commission to hold the Jackson County if they are told to reduce the assessments.

“But I also understand my voters in the East Jackson County, who do not want to pay for the stadium to subsidize it,” he said Fox4. “I think part of the equation, but much of the tax revenue that brings the region from these two teams.”
A special session begins on Monday at 12 noon. Jefferson City.
