On Wednesday, August 13, his mother Stephanie Neely tells people that despite the fact that the Dakota is still at the beginning of the recovery process, his family is “very grateful for his progress.”

Later that day, Chapter K-9 of the Farmington Correctional Center (FCC) was deployed by his blood home named Darrell, who found Dakotas lying in the foot of the water.

Dakota was traveled to St. Louis Hospital, where he was admitted to a medical coma with brain bleeding, his mother earlier told people. He suffered deep wounds of his body, as well as severe head injury, several brain bleeding, an additional fracture on the skull, weakened kidneys and needed a fan to breathe.
After nearly two weeks, Stephanie waited for the bed, the Dakota was alert and there were signs that he woke up on Friday, August 8, on the Facebook group to update the Dakota Strong.

By Saturday, August 9, Stephanie says to people that he was alert enough to share his love by signing the American sign language gesture “I love you.”
“This moment was decisive to me. It caused the last couple of weeks of stress, heartache, hope, gratitude, sadness and pain because that little gesture meant my boy came back to me,” she says.
Until Sunday, August 10, he was not a fan. “He’s doing so well !!” Read on the Facebook page. “We still have a long way of recovery, but it’s a huge progress !!!!!!”

On Monday, August 11, Dakota enjoyed her first dish: a burger and coke.
“When Cody was leaving the fan and became more alert, he looked at me and said, ‘Mom, I’m thirsty, I need 16 ounces of coke from McDonald’s! “Says Neely. The next day I commanded him from Burger King Vytul, hoping to force him to eat.”

After Cody awakened, he “was still a sedation for a few days to help it facilitate it from a coma,” explains Neely to people. She notes that it is no longer sedation on Wednesday, August 13, so “the last 24 hours for him was very severe.”
“He can’t walk because of injury and muscle mass loss in a coma,” she says. “He tries to talk for a long time about pure exhaustion, pneumonia and other infections he is fighting.”
Previously, Neely told the NBC’s subsidiary KSDK that the water forced him to agree on “a lot of infectious bacteria” that caused him pneumonia. Also, since he entered the 240 -foot deep ravine, he also suffered severe wounds on his back because he was submerged for so long.

“His brain injuries are still very pronounced and are very closely monitored,” says Neely. She notes that it will be transferred to the Children’s Hospital inpatient unit specializing in physical, vocational and psychological therapy.
“We are very grateful for his progress and are glad that we are finally going in the right direction,” she adds.
“I knew he was a fighter from birth,” said Neely KSDK. “He was born super premie and then fought for his life, and now, almost 14 years later, he does it again.”
“Just prove to all of us, how strong it is, how strong and stubborn he is, which, honestly, saved his life,” said Neely KSDK. “He wasn’t going to give up.
