Thoroughly delayed and Constance Marten Court delay and disorder inside

Two expensive trials for thorough delays, the defendant representing himself who crossed his partner from the inside of the dock, and the oldest Bailey judge, who began accusations of sabotage – Constance Marten and Mark Gordon’s trial.

The case was already extraordinary before it even reached the courtroom: the aristocrat who went to the run and began to camp “outside the net” with his abuser’s partner and their baby in 2023. In winter, so that the baby is not maintained as their other children.

When Marten clarified Gordon’s violent criminal record, the prosecution later questioned whether the slip was an attempt to deliberately sabotage the process.

Even the Presidency Mark Lucraft KC claimed at the same time that the accused tried “sabotage” or “drive”. In the next stage, Judge Lucraft, who is sitting as a London recording device, told Marten: “I’ve been sitting for thirteen years as a full -time judge and never had the attitude that someone has shown me.” He added that two teenagers who had been in his docks that day were “quite better – and they admitted guilty of murder.” When Marten refused to see a crown psychiatrist, he said, “My patience has been tested many, many times.”

Judicial Days were lost when Marten complained of toothache and fatigue from his three -hour trip from Surrey Prison in which she was held. However, when a judge made sure she saw a dentist, she refused treatment.

Both parents gave testimony in their defense, but refused to be crossed by prosecution. Marten called the brand the crown Joel Smith KC as “damn” and “heartless” because he asked if left to leave Victoria’s body in a bag filled with trash was a “despicable thing”. After a busy exchange, she refused to return to the witness box.

By the time the jury withdrew to consider their verdict, both Marten and Gordon had abandoned their main baristas. The tactics were dramatically interrupted when he painted a positive picture of his upbringing, so prosecution successfully appeals for the so -called “bad character” evidence against him, which led to the jurors to learn all his belief that he, as a teenager, in the US, was in prison for two decades.

In the first court, Gordon never even made testimony, changing his mind to do so without explanation. But Marten was a dock for many days.

Despite her testimonies for a toilet break, her evidence has become the basis of the first trial, sometimes at its expense, and it is sometimes likely to have a heart -breaking, on the one hand, and quite fantastic and deceptive, on the other hand.

Speaking of Marten, in the second court, the prosecutor’s office said “lying from her mouth, we offer and always did, as in the wind floating in confetti.”

They accused the couple to “choose and choose what questions to answer” because they told the jury to the baby Victoria “never had the opportunity”.

Marten and Gordon will be convicted of a set date.
