Rating:
Rating: False
Context:
Other provisions of the draft law would increase the power of the judicial system, but the consequences of the US president who delay or cancel the election shall be subject to the consequences of this claim.
One big, beautiful draft law is what US President Donald Trump called HR .1 – Republicans at the Congress of the Budget Law on 2025. Used a vehicle to turn some of Trump’s agendas into law. The legislators should have liked phrases – the proposed legislation is known as the Law on One Big Beautiful Bill.
The draft law had major changes and budget reduction. The palace passed by only one vote on May 22. And this writing had not yet passed through the Republican -controlled Senate, where he had a large Democrats and several Republican arguments that the bill is too much or too little.
However, reports on social media sites such as Facebook, Reddit and X continued, claiming that the draft law would allow the president to “legally postpone or cancel the election.”
The Snopes has carefully reviewed the mammoth of the law that sees the provisions to comply with that description. There was no – so the statement is wrong.
The account content table shows a brief description of what each chapter does.
HR 1 is actually a provision that would make it harder for the courts to execute orders against the federal government, so theoretically, could postpone the election or cancel. However, this statement is not related to the potential consequences of the US president taking such action – that is, whether HR 1 legally allows the President to do so. This is not the case.
The account content table shows a brief description of what each chapter does.
As examples:
-
Title IV (Energy and Commerce), B Subtrack (Environment), Part 1 (Removal and Recounds) are a List of Law, which will eliminate the draft law, including section 42106, “withdrawal and withdrawal associated with funding in air pollution in schools”.
-
Title IV, D Subtitude (Health), Part 1 (Medicaid), Section B (“Expenditure Prevention”) includes 44125 chapters, “prohibiting federal Medicaid and chips for gender transition procedures”.
No one in the contents of the bill even appeared remotely as it would give the President the power to postpone or cancel the election.
If such provisions were to be hidden in the draft law, it should contain either the word “president” or “executive power”, which would allegedly allow the authorities. But finding an account for those keywords also revealed nothing important.
The term “president” has submitted an 18 -time bill on topics such as cross -border oil pipelines, up to Medicaid’s suitability, radio frequency range, but never according to election. The term “executive power” came 44 times, mainly about government departments with the word on their behalf, but again, never in terms of elections.
