Walmart is bringing back a deal that will save shoppers money when it comes time for the Thanksgiving holiday, amid concerns about rising costs due to new tariffs.
On Wednesday, October 21, the company’s CEO and president, John Furner, appeared Good morning America to reveal that Walmart has brought back the Thanksgiving Savings Basket for the third year in a row.
Despite price concerns, buyers will get a better deal than 2024.
“We’re really excited about what we have planned for Thanksgiving this year,” he said on the morning show, adding, “It’s a time of year when people are busy. They don’t want to sacrifice quality, and we want to do everything we can to help them celebrate the holiday the way they want. And we want to do it in a way that’s very accessible and valuable.”
According to a Walmart press release, the cart makes a meal that costs about $4 per person for 10 servings.

Enabled GMA, Furner revealed that the price is down “about 25 percent” compared to what customers were paying in 2024, a savings of about $14.
There are more than 20 items in the basket, the highlight of which is the 13.5-pound Butterball Turkey.
“Our turkey prices are back to where they were in 2019 at 97 cents a pound,” Furner told George Stephanopoulos. He added that the deal “was better than I expected”, saying he had been “very excited” about the price this year.
“We started the idea of making the whole basket easy to buy, easy to assemble back in 2022. And this year we’re going to have the best basket prices we’ve had since the program started,” he said.
Furner added, “We want to help people celebrate the way they want, and do it at a great Walmart price.
This year’s basket includes other ingredients such as stuffing mixes, lunch rolls, potatoes, cranberries, pie crusts and other Thanksgiving essentials from brands like Campbells, Stove Top and Walmart’s Great Value brand, according to a press release.
Walmart shoppers will be able to order a cart with free expedited shipping if they’re using the company’s Pickup & Delivery service for the first time.
