“We lied to the gate”

A normal hack to save money for Ryanair tied to a couple.

Scott McCormick and his girlfriend Helena Boshwick, both 33, were designed to fly from UK Birmingham Airport to Palma de Mallorca, Spain. While trying to save money, the couple decided not to pay for the reservation spaces during the flight.

“I and my partner thought this is not such a problem if we are not sitting together on a two-hour flight, we are adult here,” McCormick, owner of the gym, told Kennedy News.

They first went to board the boarding when the employee asked them to leave when the remaining passengers boarded.

“That moment was a red flag, I thought, ‘Something is happening here,” McCormick shared. “I asked her to say what would happen and she said no.”

After everyone else was on the plane, an employee of Ryanair allegedly told them that the flight was full and only one seat remained.

McCormick acknowledged that they both had a “collapse” because they wanted to travel together, but they were told they were in this position because they had not “booked a place”.

“There was no condolences or concern. When we returned back and forth, we said we were not going to take separate flights and be in separate countries for a few hours,” he said.

Following the dispute with the staff, the couple was said to have been told that they both could get to another flight and recover both tickets.

But when they went to the registration table again, they were told they would still have to pay for one of the tickets-and they said the refund had never been issued.

“We started selling tickets and they said we still have to pay for one ticket, only one is reimbursed. One of the places was given as a canceled reservation and the other missed flight, so we should still pay for one place and be reimbursed for another,” McCormick said.

“This is the greatest part [issue]We just lied to the gate, but then we still sold us a place and still saw no compensation signs. ‘

It is reported that the couple had to spend even more money for a new ticket and waited four hours for the next flight, and McCormick said it felt like “discrimination.”

“Ryanair had to ask all passengers if anyone would like to volunteer their seats,” he said.

“… How do they choose these people, are we young and we have no children, so there are only two of us, or does it relate to what we do not see or understand?”

He said he would avoid flying Ryanair in the future due to lack of care and empathy. “You can close your eyes and they just don’t care, they are deadlock.”

Although some social media people believed that they were distinguished for non-reservation sites by way of so-called burglary that you would do smaller airline tickets-Ryanair explained that this is because the plane itself was switched to one with less seats.

“This flight from Birmingham to Palma de Mallorca (May 1) was not ‘too reserved’-it had to be scheduled for 737-8200 (197 places), but for reasons there was a need to change to 737-800 aircraft (189 places),” said one passenger. Mallorca, “said Ryanair spokesman.

The airline spokesman noted that McCormick had no right to refund the money because it was re -entered in another available flight.

“Mr. McCormick’s travel companion was not refused to pick up, but chose not to stay and travel on this flight from Birmingham to Palma de Mallorca and had to pay a missed departure fee to be reserved for another possible flight.”
