US public health experts talk after Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, doubled his very controversial changes in disease control and prevention centers.
“In general, the secretary is quickly changing the CDC from public health and scientific agencies to the one that is strongly controlled politically,” Lawrence Gostin, Director of the National and World Law Institute of the National and World Law, told NBC News.
What is going on?

Why is it important?
After Kennedy Op-ED, public health experts sounded anxiety about what they saw as his reckless, politicized attitude. They argued that Kennedy tactics and politics had damaged public health and may have had disastrous consequences.
“Mr. Kennedy attracts CDC’s ability to respond to infectious diseases in order to harm confidence and do nothing to improve confidence,” said Dorit Reiss, a political expert at the University of San Francisco of California at the University of California, writes NBC News.
Others agreed.
Gostin from Georgetown University said Kennedy is using the people’s frustration with the Covid-19 pandemia to attack the CDC, even blaming the agency for actions she did not control. His OP-ED, the Health Secretary, blamed the CDC for the Covido era locks and closed schools.
“CDC has no power to order economic locks or closed schools,” Gostin said. “These were purely state decisions.
What is it done?
Despite the fact that he faced bilateral Congress and condemned public health experts, Kennedy still supported the current administration.
