Chicago – Dozens of people were arrested on Sunday during the Chicago Pride, including 16 people who are now confronted with accusations, the Chicago Police Department reports.
Police said a total of 39 people were arrested during or immediately after the event, which attracted more than 800,000 participants on the theme “United in Pride”.
The accusations included a number of heavy batteries in the peace officer, unlawfully utilizing the weapon (UUW) and the hardened illegal storage of weapons. Among the detainees were people accused of targeting firearms to officers, hiding loaded weapons in vehicles, having high -capacity magazines and even a machine gun.
One of the most serious cases is a 16-year-old man, accused of unauthorized use of a weapon or automatic weapon. Eight adults face many heavy batteries against police officers.
A total of 23 others were accused of misconduct, ranging from resistance to arrest to disorderly behavior and battery, and two quotes were issued per person. Chicago police did not report major injuries associated with these incidents.
The arrests occurred when the parade people filled the north side with colors, music and great moods, despite heat and short rain.
The organizers said they were already planning the 55th annual Pride parade of Chicago next year.
