The American and Islamic Relations Council condemned Cruz’s “despicable” notes and urged him to apologize.
“If Ted Cruz has the rest of the human decency, he will apologize to both the murdered New York City Police Department, Didarul Islam and Governor Kathy Hochul for his despicable and disrespectful behavior,” the report said.
“Senator Cruz should be ashamed of the courage to use the murdered Muslim NYPD officer’s funeral as an opportunity to strengthen anti-Muslim hatred.”

“The fact that Mr Cruz has repeatedly shown respect for Jewish beliefs, wearing Yarmulk in Jewish sacred spaces, his assault against the governor Hochula similarly respected the Muslim space, even more hatred and more hypocritical,” the statement continued.
“Next time Mr Cruz visits the Catholic Church, he should look for, notice statuettes depicting Jesus Mary, let the peace of God be, wearing a scarf, and then ask himself why he hates the hijab gaze.”
