Florida woman is behind bars after she left her teenager and seven dogs in “gloomy living conditions” to take a two -week Las Vegas, police said.
The Putnam County Sheriff Service arrested Jessica Copeland on Tuesday on calls from family and animal neglect after family members related to teenagers and dogs.
The first call occurred on Monday, when a non -state member of the family called Putnam County, asked for a welfare test for a teenager in Palatka, Florida, the agency said.
When the deputies went home, the adult was outside and told them he “cleaned” before Copeland returned home. Then the teenager went outside and said, “There was no problem and all is well,” according to the Sheriff’s service, so the deputies left.

Jessica Copeland, 37, was arrested for seven dogs and teenage homes for one two weeks before she went on vacation to Las Vegas, reports the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Another family member called the Sheriff’s Office the same day to report that he had a video of dogs at home for rape and agreed to meet the deputies to show them. The video had three “hard -to -have dogs,” said PCSo.

The same family member also said to the deputies that he did not think the house contained food or running water – information that was not provided during the initial call, the agency reports.
The deputies returned home along with the PCSO agricultural detective and the teenager allowed them inside. Previously, a former adult was no longer at home.
Inside the home, deputies encountered “gloomy living conditions”, including the layers of animal feces, trash and debris in all homes and many exhausted dogs without food or water.
A teenager told law enforcement that Copeland on July 21 Went to Las Vegas and “different people will come home to check his food and bring him food,” the agency said.
The age of the teen was not revealed.

The deputies also found seven dogs in a place of residence.
Copeland’s son told law enforcement that the house had been in his current state for many years because her mother refused to clean it.
“Two dogs were locked in a bedroom covered with about 4 -inch stools without food or water. The third dog was in a cage that had no food or water and was severely exhausted. Another four dogs were in a living room surrounded by stools and had no proper food or water.”
The teenager allegedly told law enforcement that the home had been in this condition for years because Copeland considered it and refused to clean them.
Putnam County Sheriff Hd Deloach said the situation is both a painful heart and sad. “
“The mother deliberately chose to give up her child’s dirty home, surrounded by the smell of animal feces and the suffering of abandoned animals before she enjoyed a two-week birthday trip to Las Vegas,” he said. “It was not negligent. It was a conscious cruelty to both her child and with the animals she left.”

When the deputies were at home on Tuesday morning, Copeland returned to residence and was quickly arrested to remove dogs from the house.
The Bodycam footage issued by the agency did not show Copeland resistance when they informed her that her house was in a “miserable” condition and that it had animals on the limit of starvation to death. She was quickly handcuffed and taken to custody.
“She is now on vacation in Putnam County Prison,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
Her accusations include one number of child negligence, three crime negligence figures and four cases of misconduct animal negligence, and its bonds $ 36,000.
“Let me clearly say that our community will not tolerate such a selfish level of life of man and animal. Now it has time to reflect on,” Deloach said.
The dogs were voluntarily given to the county and will be adopted as soon as they were rehabilitated.
